Finally got an HHKB, now how do I reconfigure my other keyboards to this layout?

I find myself constantly hitting "\" or "]" instead of backspace when I use my mac laptop keyboard, and when I use my Ducky Shine. Is there any way to remap the keys on both of these keyboards?

AutoHotKey. If you're on OS X you can use KeyRemap4Macbook. Something similar surely exists for Linux as well. They're all programs that intercept incoming keycodes at a low level and translate them – regular applications don't know the difference.

I love Autohotkey. It's a very useful bit of software. It's also fairly easy to use.

You can just Google search ahk. Its literally the first thing that pops up. OP asked for a program, I gave him a program.

Even if I said autohotkey, OP would have to put that into google to get a download link. Saves me time, no difference for OP

Sharpkeys works at the registry, however it can only remap keys, for chords you should go with Autohotkey, and it requires a module (interpreter) running in RAM, that is why it takes a few milisecs to react on calls to the interpreted API.

You'll be able to switch back and forth with the HHKB if you give it enough time...

Rather than hack my way to something consistent, I just tried going back and forth between it and another keyboard and at first it was a real pain...enough to where even though I really liked my HHKB, I considered selling it because it was becoming really inconvenient...

At some point it just clicked and now it is completely normal to switch back and forth.....I'm not sure how or why that happens but it does...It is like getting used to driving on both the right and left hand sides of the road...You eventually get used to switching back and forth (if you're in a situation where you do).

To be fair I did think you were groaning at my question by typing "ahk," but then again I am a noob when it comes to keyboard software so idk
