So I straight-out stole massdrop's tex yoda, took it apart right there in front of them, repaired it, then stole it away with vibex to test that extra pad.

Extra pad is electrically conencted to esc.

THen I realized I ran out of time for lunch, rapidly threw it back together, dropped it with the rest of massdrops' stuff and literally ran to In&out for lunch.

That one is so much cleaner than mine!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Haha, that's how most people felt yesterday.Despite how it may look, I actually put quite a lot of thought into the letter placement. I think I'm giving a presentation on layout design tomorrow, so you can get a full explanation on stream.

it was a little unwieldy at first for a person with small hands (me) but I got sued to it really quickly.

I used to to pull off a tough keycap, so it's very solid.

I tried Vibex's layout and it's not bad. I was able to figure out most things pretty quick, and think I could learn it fast.

I'll chime in on the lack of hot geeky chicks...

There were in fact TWO hot geeky chicks, one is a fiancé of another Geeker, and the other is a Geeker in her own right, and arrived with her posse. Hot Geeker chicks all have a posse.

The lack of any additional hot Geeker chicks is due to YOU not recruiting/inviting any more than the previously mentioned attendees :)

Rowdy is interested in VT220 stuff.

I have one in the garage which I'm more and more wanting to get out and see if it still works!  I have the manuals too :)

Really stoked on how much fun everyone had with it! Shout out to Ascaii for helping me find the Cherry keyboard that was made for these. I'll try and do a write up on the project and the setup if anyone is interested.

Oh of course it's TP's fault there were so few females... he scared them all away with his logic..

I've been eyeing this one. I blame Lingj completely.

On the upside, my spike has never been better! I'm working towards some better skills for next year.

currently doing the one where you grab the Tama and swing the ken up and into it, then flip it over in midair (grab the ken), and swing in to one of the cups. It has a nice flow to it.

It's Haata's Billings 6000 keyboard. It felt linear. I don't really recall it being anything special. Other than looking cool and being linear. Some more info in Haata's thread about it.

It is actual chrome and very heavy.

The KB above it, a sanyo MBC1000 / 1200 keyboard is also got a metal case, so you could make it look like that too (you can see the paint worn through on the front)
