I modded my Poker II with blue led, but now I kind of wish I went with aqua/cyan/teal/turquoise instead.

Though I've checked several sites, seems like it will all cost me around $40 or so with led + shipping. Is there any place to buy them cheap in bulk?

I kind of don't want to spend $40 on led alone.

eBay has most of the red/green/blue super cheap in bulk but no aqua/cyan/teal/turquoise.

No one knows? I guess I should probably wait for other RGB keyboards later then to have teal backlit.

Taobao is really the only place. The color you're looking for is quite similar to cool/ice blue LED's. I had the option to get either one when I was buying LED's. In the end, I'm primarily going with ice blue LED's instead of turqoise ones for my Lightsaver. Maybe you can save yourself some time and headaches and just go with ice blue instead of turqoise.

The LED itself is expensive but not thatttt bad, but shipping kind of killed it for me.

But yeah maybe I need to look more into sources from China or something......

Judging by the colour on my monitor and the specified wavelength, that would be blue, not cyan. Cyan usually uses different semiconductor process than blue.

Just found 2*3*4 cyan on aliexpress:

It's the only 2*3*4 Cyan I was able to conveniently find. It's also not listed on the manufacturer's website (ovtai) but that doesn't necessarily mean anything.

Thoughts? The brightness is listed much higher (600 mA should be plenty bright, even when I'm running it at ~12% max rated current) than other "special" colours (yellow green, etc. are usually listed at under 100 mcd !! at 20 mA even! )

I'm going to order it. We'll see how it goes.

I gave up and modded my poker 2 with some white LEDs I had left over. Just for kicks I sodlered three more to the bottom for the three "unused" switch positions for ISO

I think I'm going to get a few hundred of those cyans and see what they're like.

less than $0.06 per LED is a good price for such an uncommon colour. It's already about what LEDs normally cost on eBay
