Why?
Why you might ask, why would I want to buy a black PCB over a green one...
Now imagine if this was in black.. It would look Epic, Stealthy and would work better with any keycap combination you go for. Having transparent or clear acrylic cases would mean a neutral black coloured PCB would prevent the green showing through and breaking your perfect theme.

For those who have a metal plate and a metal case, at least with the black PCB you will be able to better admire your soldering work, and know you have the cooler looking black PCB over the standard green, and that your PCB is one of a limited run It's whats inside that counts right?

- All 3 layers, Normal, Fn1, Fn2 can be edited.
- Load the layout from the keyboard to the software by pressing "Load".
- Save layouts to the keyboard by pressing "Save". No need to unplug/plug the keyboard.
- Easy as that! Gon feels that this is the easiest client software for a custom keyboard!
- Works with NerD Controllers (i.e. NerD 60%, 87%, and 100% boards)
- The video is by GON, a rare situation where you have a korean keyboard guy working directly with the english speaking market   Video is 8mins.

So I want in some of this action. How does it work?

Orders will be placed as a batch of 24 by GON with his manufacturer. The manufacturing order will actually be sent in at 20 units to accelerate the process. Given that there was a commitment for 28 units over 2 months, we are realistically looking at a single run of these PCBs happening, unless we make it to 48 PCBs.

Note that there is a limit of 24 units for this round. Once we reach 24 units, the item will be listed as out of stock on GONs webshop.

Therefore, if you want in, now is the time to get your foot in the door. Place an order for the PCB and associated accessory items on GON's webshop. When the order goes ahead, he will send for the PCBs to be manufactured, and you will receive your item in due course.

One more thing to let you know...
MOQ is decreased, but there came one more limit...
The QTY should be multiple of 24. So, in this case the number will be limited to 24.
I will only open orders for 24 pcs.
So, they should place orders before the PCBs are all gone.

About Schedule
- I will place order for manufacturing PCBs when the number of orders/payments reach 20 to save time.
(Paypal Gift Payment is prefered. You can choose the option when checking out. I updated my website for that. )
- Then I need one business week to get the PCBs from the factory. And I need a week to solder controllers and do test.
- In short, the ETA will be "at the time of 20 orders taken" + 1 business week + 2~3 days for shipping preparation + Delivery via UPS/EMS or equivalent Express Shipping(Generally get within a week.)

=> As you guess, I will ship the PCBs to the address of the buyer.

- There are a few non-windows based users (myself included). the following is an excerpt from one of the comments. "I'm very interested in a 60% right now, but I don't do Windows - all OS X + Linux machines, so it looks like the programmer isn't very useful.  If the source code for the basic CLI editor were available, that'd be a big deal for me to consider the board!"

- This may eventually be a GB for a Black PCB. If this goes ahead GON will go ahead and produce a run of PCBs that will be available from his shop at the same price ($53) for the GB period. Beyond which, the black PCBs may be available for a premium.
- If the GB reaches 260 units, GON will offer free soldering of diodes and resistors too!

Availability
- These will be available directly from his store for the GB period, for the same price as the stock green PCB. Customisations such as pre-soldering of diodes and side LEDs will be applicable as per the green board
- Beyond this GB period, extra Black PCBs will only be available at a premium over the green PCB.

- ISO and ANSI compatible plate
- One colour - Glare Silver, or Non-Glare Black
- Housing includes Frame, Top and bottom panels, the top one functions as the switch plate too.
- The NerD60 and 38GT PCBs have slightly different dimensions and connector locations, the NerD60 will not fit in NS38 housings and vice versa. Also, the NerD60 supports ISO.

One of the best looking black boards I've seen, with a nice finish, and relatively light silkscreening, so it preserves that sleek look.

Before you apply Side LEDs to your board, you have to check whether your Housing/Case supports Side LEDs.
NS NerD or Any other NerD Housings at my website support Side LEDs of NerD PCBs. But so few Housings support it.

It would be up to you to have a solid or split spacebar, you are not forced to have it, if the holes for the extra 2 switches were on the pbc.

And it's not fluff, it is actually verry usefull if you think about it.
I'd like to have the left side of the split spacebar to access a function layer.

My left thumb is barely used, I'd like to change that.

No, you are right, the option for split space-bar is good. The fact that I don't like it, and don't find it appealing has nothing to do with that. For me non standard layouts just complicate things, hard to find keycaps, a layout that is not common with more keyboards, hence when I have to type on a "normal" keyboard I feel lost.
For me just the fact that I replaced Caps with Ctrl causes enough problems when I go back to a "normal" keyboard. And in my line of work I have to change keyboards to whatever is there.

But I am for more versatility, something like the Phantom PCB, even if I don't use all of that

Mine just arrived today!  I must say, I am very impressed with this little board.  Lovely black with exquisite soldering work(I opted for the full soldering workup with side leds/diodes/etc).  Like seriously.  I couldn't help myself and plugged this sucker in right away...man those yellow leds really pop!  Gonna be pretty slick with the blue/purple leds   I'm thrilled to have gotten in on this!  Thanks ever so much GON and okwchin!!   Now to start saving my pennies for a house for this little guy to live in   Speaking of which, any recommendations on the housing??  This will be my first GON keyboard and I'm not too sure which direction I should go as far as what to put this bad boy in.

If you had planned earlier, you could have gone for the 60% acrylic case sprit's selling. Not sure if there are extras. You could opt for really expensive and go fmj from feng; orders close october 15, and thats going to house my second GON the second i get the funds for another PCB. And lastly you could just go with one of the housings GON is selling. I was originally going to go with that, but then i decided i wanted to be different and finally you have tex or pexon cases, since the NerD fits most poker cases though imo i don't like them as much since a lot of people have them so i don't feel as special

OH yes, don't use also the EMS part, you must use the standard 13 characters code 2 letters at the start 9 digits afterwards and 2 letters at the end.

I have now only custom boards and a HHKB, sold all my other boards, sold my first ever board a Poker X to get the Black NerD60.
I can't imagine going back to non programable boards

Now I have to wait to get all the other part to build this one, but I don't want to rush things, can't make any mistakes with this awesome board.
I would love an aluminum case for this one, I would have taken a GON case but I don't like plate mounted switches, they feel too hard to my fingers

- Resistors diodes soldering
- PCB Mount Stabilizers installation (if any of you have some kind of guide about that )

Yep. PCB stab installation is pretty straightforward, you just basically stick them on,  though you can clip them like in this thread here: http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=34759.0

Regarding shipping from Korea to me (Romania) was 23$ and the PCB was in my hands in 4 days that including the time spent at the customs office. I simply refuse to pay 20$ from UK to me for just a PCB, when I got my HHKB from UK the shipping was 18 GBP for a whole keyboard and with insurance to cover up to 180EUR.... so I would pay 3$ more any day and get it from GON directly.

It's a NerD60 the Ctrl Alt one. I was thinking of buying one, but they have an insane high shipping price for EU, I mean 20$ from UK to me .... At that price I rather buy one from GON, with no 3rd party logo on it. GON has the green PCB always on stock, only the black one was a limited edition. In fact I'm planing to get a 2nd one, but first I have to save some money

GON's shipping price was more than the [CTRL]Alt shipping price, and at the time, didnt come in black. Overall, I would have been happen with either GB.

Just join the second IC! If you didn't see earlier, as long as there are 24 people interested they will do another run, AND in another color if they can all agree on one.
