Do people ever etch their own pcb's for keyboards?

for a simple single layer pcb do people ever etch their own at home? or is it simply not worth the effort and just hand wire up all the switches?

I guess a PCB looks more "proper", if it's worth the work is your choice :)

wow ive never heard of anyone hand drawing that many traces for a pcb etching.
