Hello!
« on: Thu, 16 October 2014, 12:34:22 »
Hey Everyone!

Long time lurker; I love this site! I have learned so much in such a short period of time. My coworker got me into keyboards and I honestly don't know how I've missed this for so long!

I just got my first mechanical keyboard today. It's a Ducky Shine III TKL with blues and I love it! I'm trying to type as many words as I can because I love how it feels and sounds lol.

I don't know how I've gone this long without a mechanical keyboard. I'm already looking into getting mech for work (would like to get into 60%).

I welcome this hobby with open arms (and credit cards) lol.

Anyways, I just wanted to introduce myself and say hi!

Thanks for having me!

Welcome to Geekhack!

You shouldn't have mentioned that credit card - there are way too many sweet things to buy around here :p
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
