Didn't you have the 'holy grail' at one time?  An ANSI Alps board made by Alps themselves?

I prefer the 101-N and ultra with the full-up arrowcluster.

That was a pretty nice board, complicated white Alps. I traded it to jcarpe.

But it was a plastic keyboard, moderate-to-high quality.

The old-school Northgates are in a class approaching the Model F - incredible construction, heavy baked enamel metal case bottom pan that the internal plate screws down to, doubleshot keys with RGB colors, etc.

The Northgates use Tai Hao keycaps. While those are nice, personally I like Alps doubleshots a bit better, and Alps dyesubs much better.

Has anyone else noticed that there has been a grip of Omnikeys on eBay in the last month or so?

Yup.  I think some people saw them popping up at ridiculous prices and selling, so they decided to cash in.
