Down for the Holidays
« on: Tue, 23 December 2014, 08:02:45 »
What the actual f***. http://www.cmstore-usa.com/ is "down untill 2015." Granted, the regular product site is still available, but the store site is down. You can't buy anything, check the status of your orders, or look at pricing and availability because they shut down the site for the holidays? LOL what kind of mickey-mouse BS is that? I guess the site doesn't work unless someone is there to pedal the internet-machine....

*mock horror*

Have you ever considered that they may actually give their employees time off for the holidays?  If you seriously need something CM so badly, there are other places to get it.

Instead of a legitimate complaint, you're coming off as an entitled *******.

I forget that sarcasm isn't easily read by people I don't know through the internet. I am not mad that they have time off, I am mystified as to why they would shut down the website as well. I noticed because I wanted to check the status of an order...

sorry for being a grinch

Oh, in that case, it's likely for customer service reasons.  It's probably easier to shut the site down than recode the cart with shipping after the holidays and dealing with the inevitable slew of emails regarding sales that they would have to deal with upon return.

I've got to agree that it is a bit odd that the whole site is just shutdown - if it was just a matter of getting time off, they could have posted a notification while keeping the site online. I run some ecommerce type sites for work, and it will be a cold day in hell before they let us shut them off for any appreciable amount of time. Even when we did a full scale upgrade we had to do it in a way that only allowed 1 day of downtime, during a weekend, in the wee hours of the morning to ensure that no one was affected. The timing is odd too - at the end of the year. I dunno...maybe their fiscal year doesn't end with the calendar year.

This is possibly the best interpretation that there is.  ;D
