What are you doing? What are you training for atm? I played for like six years so I know my way around New Eden
Nothing really, just doing the training missions and stuff. AND MINING
Ah cool. Mining is one of those things that you just glaze over while doing it. The perfect alt-tabbing activity.
eve is one of those games where the combat mechanic is patheticly boring and it's only the squad tactics that make it fun right?
watching the eve vods....nothing happens cause of time dilation.
I used to be in the largest Alliance in EVE before it disbanded, then I joined the strongest one before they disbanded (lol) and I can tell you, that time dialation is probably the worst thing to ever experience in any game I have ever played.
People say joining a Player Owned Corporation is the best thing you can do to improve your experience of the game, and it is. But not a big one. Politics and sovereignty warfare make playing the game boring. Like, really boring. Being told you HAVE to sign up for IRC, link API after API to forums, killboards and whatever else, then having to participate in fleet compositions you find boring as **** in order to get the minimum amount of kills to not be purged.
Time dialation is the pinnacle of this, when you stay logged on for hours and hours (up to 12, sometimes 18 hours in some cases) to sit in a fight slowed down to 5% of normal speed, constantly worrying that you might get logged off at any time, or that you may be dead and not even know it because of the lag. You sit there, waiting for one (usually jumped up prick) to call out targets. Then it takes you 5 minutes to stop firing your guns in your enormous ship you aren't moving in, then another 5 minutes to lock onto the target, then another 5 minutes to shoot them once.
POCs are awesome, and the most fun I had was when we camped gates in low sec in **** ships that we lost every day, while scamming people in expensive ships so we could hold them to ransom then blow them up.
TL;DR don't ever get in a capital ship.
