space is boring by yourself.

There are only 500,000 others :p

Would be interested in how long you survive. Have heard it's a very steep difficulty curve.

I don't want to play with randos.

The curve isn't difficult, it's the 1000s of branches of learning that's difficult.

And the fact that if you don't know your fittings inside out, you can get ****ed in a situation where you think you will win.

What are you doing? What are you training for atm? I played for like six years so I know my way around New Eden ;)
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

You want to play with randoms, and then they won't be randoms anymore. If I were young I'd look for some small pirate corp. Life is good in Eve as soon as you realize that you will lose ships and you will die a lot no matter what you do. Don't risk way too much and always figure good ways to earn isk then you'll be fine.

I have an EvE account, I haven't been on for a month or so, but I still have game time.
I just don't have the time I wish I did.

Trust nobody with your ships or money. Trust nobody when they ask to join your fleet. Trust nothing you find on the market. Accept you will always lose ships and money. Nothing is profitable if you take time into account.

Never fly something you can't afford to replace.

My Autismo doesn't allow me to play with others.

eve is one of those games where the combat mechanic is patheticly boring and it's only the squad tactics that make it fun right?

watching the eve vods....nothing happens cause of time dilation.
ALL zombros wanted:  dead or undead or dead-dead.

Ah cool. Mining is one of those things that you just glaze over while doing it. The perfect alt-tabbing activity.

I used to be in the largest Alliance in EVE before it disbanded, then I joined the strongest one before they disbanded (lol) and I can tell you, that time dialation is probably the worst thing to ever experience in any game I have ever played.

People say joining a Player Owned Corporation is the best thing you can do to improve your experience of the game, and it is. But not a big one. Politics and sovereignty warfare make playing the game boring. Like, really boring. Being told you HAVE to sign up for IRC, link API after API to forums, killboards and whatever else, then having to participate in fleet compositions you find boring as **** in order to get the minimum amount of kills to not be purged.

Time dialation is the pinnacle of this, when you stay logged on for hours and hours (up to 12, sometimes 18 hours in some cases) to sit in a fight slowed down to 5% of normal speed, constantly worrying that you might get logged off at any time, or that you may be dead and not even know it because of the lag. You sit there, waiting for one (usually jumped up prick) to call out targets. Then it takes you 5 minutes to stop firing your guns in your enormous ship you aren't moving in, then another 5 minutes to lock onto the target, then another 5 minutes to shoot them once.

POCs are awesome, and the most fun I had was when we camped gates in low sec in **** ships that we lost every day, while scamming people in expensive ships so we could hold them to ransom then blow them up.

TL;DR don't ever get in a capital ship.

this game sounds way too strict for me lol.  is it this strict for WOW?

i had to run 4 man fireteams and then eventually 20 man army groups in travian, but even then it never took anywhere close to double digit hours lol.

It doesn't always take that long. Only at the "peak" of the game in the largest corporations. Then you start winning by not logging on ever.

It's only bad if you're sitting in really expensive ships. Otherwise, can always log off and accept it as a loss, I mean if I have to go sleep I go sleep. But politics is also the thing that makes Eve good, really good. If there wasn't pvp and alliances and wars there would be nothing interesting to do, it would be just a pve grind like any other game out there.
Again, sov warfare is awesome sometimes but those are rare moments.
I am not sure how latest changes work as I am not very active, they might just stop the huge blob fights or make them less likely to happen which encourages a lot more small scale warfare.

I played for a few years, and my character is actually very well trained...but yeah. I eventually stopped playing because i had nothing to do anymore. Most of the people I knew had stopped. I suppose I could have found some random people to run with, but I was kinda over it at that point.

What I did enjoy doing though was worm hole exploration/hunting. I was one of those pricks in the stealth bombers that picks someone off when they bite off more than they can chew. lol.

I've considered going back, but not without a good group of people to play with.
