Desoldering braids for a group type buy, anyone?

This is a quality USA brand (not some chinese junk with iffy flux), so figured I'd throw it out there. 5 feet per spool, 0.05" wide. Usually retails for around $4 per roll.

Someone would have to reship in bubble envelopes or something, so I'm not sure if this makes proper sense outside of a local redistribution. I don't need any myself as I have a giant spool already that I rarely use due to having Pace desoldering equipment

Price is so dirt cheap, I actually want to buy and ship them all to Singapore. TY for this awesome deal.

But that said, I've heard that the flux will dry/ deteriorate. Is that true? If I buy 100 rolls, I probably need 10 years to use them all and want them not to deteriorate.

It depends on the brand, mostly, due to the flux and purity of copper used. The flux in braids is already dry, so it's not going to dry up further, however it also serves as a means of preserving the copper. The copper needs to remain free of tarnishing/oxidation so it's best to store the braid in a dry low oxygen environment (like an airtight jar). My techspray braid is still shiny and wicks well even though it was made sometime in the last decade.

Are these more efficient than pumps?
I might be interested in this depending on shipping costs to Korea. Around 3~5 spools since Ill be attempting to solder for the first time soon, and I know I will mess up.

Generally braids are used for cleanup work on excess solder that is otherwise hard to pick up with a pump or such. A pump would still be the go to tool for through hole parts, but the braid can be handy if the pump can't get all the solder out, or if you have excess solder on some pads, etc.

I like using them for surface mount parts as a complete desolder and cleanup between those tiny pads.  They also work well for through-hole when you don't have the ability to put a good seal around the edge of the hole.

I'd be in for a few.  The shipping is only 6 dollars for me (I live within 150 miles), not sure what it is elsewhere.
