Hello from Malaysia!
« on: Fri, 16 January 2015, 08:59:02 »
Hey guys! Recently found out about this site. I've been really getting into changing the look of my Filco Majestouch 2 TKL.

Already got a set of PBT keycaps that I really like, now for the case/housing. Would you guys be so kind and point me in the right direction?
What do you guys recommend?

Welcome to Geekhack!

What material were you looking seeking for the casing?

If aluminium, infiniti has pretty much pointed you to where you can get one, if they come back in stock.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I don't think that there's a third party plastic/acrylic casing for Filco though. only aluminum. :(

qtan user to sell them, but not any more: https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=34555.0

You could start a thread in his vendor forum to ask if he can get any more.
