From the listed weights, it looks like they're offering springs used in Gateron switches.

Did I read this correctly? 120 springs for about $30 (depending on your location) shipped?

It's cheap as hell... assuming you're using Zimbabwean dollars.

3 x 120 springs. You can choose 3 different  weights.

120 springs x 3 so 360 springs and at the lowest tier will be $19.99 + $2.90 for shipping so all totalled and divided out your paying ~$7.63 for 120 springs

360 springs for $28.23USD to Canada or $26.69 anywhere else int'l.

Makes sense.
Also highly questioning the strength of a 35g spring for stabilized keys.

OK, now that I have taken another look I see a line that was missing earlier.

So what spring weights should we buy if we are deliberately looking for something new to try? I already have enough springs, so this is going to be a discretionary purchase.

Anyone has actually tried springs like these before? I'd hate to buy and find they have weird feels.

Cheapest tier for me will be about $27 shipped and that should be true of non-CONUS people.

Think im just going to wait for someone to post there fingidings on these once they are shiped. I too would hate it if these turned out to be crappy springs.

Even SP reported issues to get feedback from MD on the Granite's issues, these guys appear to be overwhelmed by multiple GB follow ups, or indifferent to communicate. I just hope the Infinity set I bought from them would actually be delivered and worked well.

These descriptions are so poorly written.

I don't get how 45g springs are supposedly what are in stock reds (according to MD) and yet 62g is what they say people use in ergo clears.

45 refers to (Cherry's measurements) force to actuation.  Would be the same as 60g by Korean syntax.  62g Korean refers to force to bottom out.

So they use inconsistent measures for springs...and even claim that blacks and greens use different springs.

+1

these were put up pretty lazy by massdrop, there is a good chance the 35g-45g is CRAZY LIGHT like the ones you get from originative and sprit. if they are the same as originative they great for blue switches and nothing else, even brown switches are sticky with the 35g and linear switches register on your finger twitching so light. I wish Massdrop would send the samples to someone here to validate them.

I'd say Gateron.

I just put in an order and am waiting nervously. It's not a lot of money, but it could be entirely wasted money because Massdrop guys don't know what they are selling and their descriptions are suspect.

What bothers me most is that they may be using springs from Different manufacturers. That's why we have Cherry spring weights and Korean spring weights at the same time. This could be very confusing and lead to many exchanges between geekhackers as we try to figure things out.

Yeah, $30 is nothing so I was going to put an order in as well.  I just...I don't really need 360 springs...

Was going to get two of the 35 and a 40.

For science.  But what if I end up with low quality insta-rust 45g cherry spring clones.

Edit:  made a post in discussion section

Do not let the text description misguide you.

If these are force to actuation as I suspect:

35g - Lighter than the spring used in MX Red/Blue/Brown. Clear stems and possibly even brown stems will stick on the upstroke. Lube recommended. These can be good for blues/greens/whites.
40g - Slightly lighter than the spring found in stock MX Red/Brown/Blue. Clear stems will have a slight stick on the upstroke until they are worn in.
45g - Same weight as stock MX Red/Brown/Blue spring. Clear stems will be slightly sticky on the upstroke until broken in.
60g - Same weight as stock MX Black/Green/White
62g - NOT the 62g that modders use in "62g Ergo Clears.". Heavier than stock black/green/white.
67g - Significantly heavier than stock MX black/green/white. Heavier than stock MX clear springs, and with different force curve.
80g - Heavy.

They have updated descriptions to say these are compression force

If this is truly force to bottom out/compression force, here is my breakdown:

35g - Ridiculously light. Your keycaps might sit in an actuated position.
40g - Lighter than the spring used in MX Red/Blue/Brown. Clear stems and possibly even brown stems will stick on the upstroke. Lube recommended. These can be good for blues/greens/whites. Stabilizer keys will have issues.
45g - Lighter than the spring used in MX Red/Blue/Brown. Clear stems will stick on the upstroke. Lube recommended. These can be good for blues/greens/whites. You may have issues with stabilizer keys not popping up (stabs are heavy)
60g - Same weight as stock MX Red/Brown/Blue spring. Clear stems will be slightly sticky on the upstroke until broken in.
62g - Most popular ergo clear weight. Slightly heavier than stock MX light springs, which helps it from snagging on the upstroke (even without lube)
67g - heavier ergo clear. I like this weight, though 65g is my favorite for clears.
80g - Same weight as stock MX Black/Green/White

Those wondering about the Gateron springs, I've done a mini write up on the "35g" white switch. I have NOT tested the 35g spring on a Cherry stem however, so what I describe may not be applicable for Cherry switches. I haven't measured it yet, but I'm fairly certain the "35g" spring is NOT bottom out, but rather ACTUATION force.

Latest news on the discussion page is that these are actuation force.

I also got into a discussion about black spring vs green spring.  My tests still show me that they are (nearly) the same, but a MD user says he's modded over 100 keyboards and that Green spring = Grey.

Can anyone verify?

If the DT wiki is accurate, it looks like that the statement is correct. However for some reason, I distinctly remember greys feeling heavier than greens.

I took this photo last night

Also put green spring with a linear stem and compared it to a stock black by pressing them into each other.  Black and Green are pretty close.  But grey is much heavier.

Not the most scientific experiment but its what I got.  Could be doing something wrong.
