GON Nerd TKL, Acrylic Housing, full decked out LEDs, pimped clears with 62g.

This is only after being in this hobby for 4 months. The amount of money spent to reach this realization though...

TIL off keyboard forums: The 6lb, 20-year old, still-in-perfect-working-condition IBM Model M, is a 'flimsy toy'. Anyway, I own two and love them, and if this is really gonna be a keyboard for life choice, then I gotta go with the keyboard I'm almost sure will last me for life.

Do that many people really own Model Fs? They seem kinda hard to come by. And which ones are people using? This one?: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:IBM_Model_F_AT.png. What do you do for for that sixkey cluster (home/end/pgup, etc) and arrow keys? You just toggle the scroll lock a lot?

My bro still has his original G80-3000.  My love for MX blues has been rekindled and I love the original Cherry doubleshot caps, so that'd have to be the board for me.

The AT is pretty popular, probably the most used.

The 4704 Model Fs seem pretty popular as well, the Kishsaver of course is legendary, but the 107 is the closest to a modern layout you'll find on an F.

And yes, comparted to my over ten pound, solid metal, 31 year old keyboard I'm typing this on, I think your M does qualify as a flimsy toy. ;)

Other boards: Kinesis Essential, Infinity(G.Clears), Ergodox(MX Blues), Monoprice 9433

Eternally searching for Celestial Blue BS V2 and blue/purple Bros.

Needs more aircraft carrier if you're going that way:

That way you get all the keys you could possibly need, some remapping might be necessary though.

Also, the problem with the Model M is that the heat stakes (or "rivets") that hold the assembly together become brittle over time, and then break. A bolt mod can fix this, though.
