This is awesome. I played all the ultima games back in the day. Even bought the massive box edition of ulitma IX ascension, which I still have. 
haha, i think i still have this sitting around somewhere. i never got around to playing it though, since it was in pretty sad shape when it was released.
I remember it like it was yesterday. Got the game home, install it, went to play it and ...it crashed on start up.
Spent hours trying figure it out. Two of my friends had bought the game as well and had the same problem. Called tech support many times until days later they told me that the game had a bug and they were going to mail me a new disc. This was the good old days of the Internet, when it would take years to download a entire disc of data. A month later a new install disc arrives. Then a format and reinstall because of the botchery caused to windows by the pervious game install attempts. After that the game started...and it was horrible. Random glitches, freezes, crashes on saves, corupted save files but, it was "Ultima" so, I soldiered on. I made it half way though the game and called it. The game had so much potential but was not finished upon release.
