So I'm loving my modded 87u and 23u BUT what would make it even better is a custom acrylic roof AND detachable cables for both of them, or bluetooth. I honestly think last time I gave up too soon on the 87u because I didn't have a 23U but also because I didn't have a cover for it and my office complex is really dusty so I don't like leaving it out without covering it.

AND what would go better with a 23u and HHKB? A carrying case that would hold both of them.

Do you ever sit around and thing to yourself, I really like this setup but this 'thing' would make it so much better? Or have you given up on a good board for a somewhat 'silly' reason?

I wish I hadn't done the "I can't get real artisan caps so I'll buy funny caps from SP" thing, I think I only wasted about $40 but still.

I have a Ducky ShHne Yellow Edition - can't get much more yellow than that :p

I also recently received a yellow BS artisan keycap for my full size Model M :)

Pull the trigger and buy an 87U to do the swap, it's definitely worth it.

How do the 55g domes feel in the HHKB versus the stock 45g domes? It's tempting me.

I just did the swap, they feel heavier and more tactile. To me 45g felt a bit mushy and 55g has a bit more snap.

My experience would be close to perfection if I had my HHKB Pro JP, but matrix and split and 55g. I hate the layout of the µTron (it's "reverse staggered" or whatever and too many keys everywhere)). I gave up on that perfect split+matrix Topre board because it apparently doesn't exist yet.

I want a keyboard with fins and chrome like some classic 50's car. That'd make everything better.

What would actually improve my experience is a less godawful desk and a chair that didn't break in a move. Chair stuck at minimum height with a tall old-fashioned writing desk at the moment, it is hateful. (TBH even if the chair worked it'd still be a mess, because of the middle desk drawer I wouldn't be able to use it adjusted up anyway.)

Also I need to get this Kinesis fixed up. Although I really like that nice shiny keyboard.io keyboard. Though right now the kinesis is high enough using it would hurt because of the height.

Wrist rest, never actually tried.

Bunch of modded caps on hand, I have yet to try a better weighting for my mx blacks. Stock spring is slightly too heavy for me. But it's so much work to mod them.

Moggle kits for my cherry dyesubs, they are just lying in closet :(

Numpad so I could bring a 60%+numpad at work (hopefully in a month or so).

Seriously man, give it a shot! I never thought I'd need one until I won a rest in tigersharkdude's competition, now I can't imagine typing without one. Used to get really bad pains in my wrist which I thought was just overuse (code for a living) but the wrist rest cleared that right up.

Oh and I want to get a GHPad made in the next couple of months, always wanted one for my GH60 but the lack of 5x4 numpads was putting me off. Already got my 3D printed case designed, just need to get someone to solder up the pcb!
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

Yeah, I'll probably buy a cheap one to try it out one day, not on my priority list.
For numpad, I have 2 Absostudio Numpad on the way, just need to design a case for them. I'll probably do a JD40 alike with swill plate tool + CAD. Gotta remember how to CAD though u_u

Try a (lightly sanded) offcut of wood about the right height.  Or even a tightly folded/rolled tea towel to get the idea of what having something in front of the keyboard would do for you.

Only a short step from there to getting a real wrist rest, if you find you like it!

Oh one other thing that would have been on this list before Christmas was a custom USB cable. I've spent so much money making my keyboard look awesome and then I was too cheap to spend the money on a custom cable, the one Zeal gave me for secret santa really ties the whole keyboard together! Now I'm not going to be able to build another board without first considering more cables :)

Big plug for Zeal's work too, the fit and finish on his cables is brilliant.

Yeah for artisan cables, they really are a neat finish for a build when they match the keyset&case.

My keyboard experience would be better if I had never found out about mechanical keyboards.
I mean, mechanical keyboards feel A LOT better than rubberdomes (or at least better than those I used before) and still I find things to complain about. The perfectionism, i. e. THE GLORIOUS HUNT FOR THE PERFECT KEYBOARD, aka the hunt that'll never stop (unless you buy an HHKB Type S according to trustworthy and objective sources on GH) has begun when I first settled for a mechanical keyboard. :D

When I was using my rubberdome I never thought about improving my typing experience, now I constantly do. It is better now, that is true, but it is not more enjoyable if you keep trying to reach some sort of climax regarding your keyboard.
That said, I love mechanical keyboards. I'm just trying to prevent myself from seeking perfection when there is none and enjoy my already very good typing experience instead. :)

So... combo breaker?

I'm pretty happy about my keyboard setup for the most part. I have whittled down to two HHKB (black/white - both silenced with dental bands) and two Poker II boards with Tex cases/PBT caps in Cherry profile. I'm 99% happy with this setup. I use the HHKB for work (home/office) and the Poker II for games and typing. I have a few artisan caps, but don't have a Clack yet, which makes me a bit bummed.

And I would love if the Poker II supported swapping capslock out for control. And had a hub. So, basically, it needs to be more HHKBish. And I wish the HHKB had an aluminum case option. And a PBT space bar. And easy-to-find FN replacements.

Maybe I didn't break a combo. Shame.

My keyboard experience would be better if I converted to ANSI because of options :(

Such a simple solution. Just switch to US ANSI! :D

My keyboard experience would be better if there was no such thing as different standard layouts between US and UK English - having to hope an expensive ISO kit which often still doesn't have all the legends tips puts me off buying keycap sets.

That's one thing Australia got right when adopting standards, US-ANSI is the cat's pyjamas.
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

If I ever won the lottery I wouldn't even buy a fancy car - I'd drop 50k on sweet, sweet GMK goodies :)

"If I had a million dollars
We wouldn't have to eat Kraft Dinner
But we would eat Kraft Dinner

Of course we would, we'd just eat more
And buy really expensive ketchups with it
That's right, all the fanciest Dijon ketchups"
