Post your old Desktops / Battlestations!
« on: Thu, 26 February 2015, 14:55:07 »
I found some slides with old pictures from one of my first battlestation setups. I am not proud of it, but it is funny that even back then I made pictures of my setups.

I did not even had my own gaming PC in this pic, but had to use the one from my father upstairs... That chair looks comfy.

I don't remember which notebook that was! But for sure very heavy :)

Played these games, or at least that were some originals to show off!

And now to the strange parts of it. There was an image of Kurt Cobain...

...and also a big ton from 'The Land Before Time'

People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

The dumber the reason the more it must be done

The nostalgia! Look, CD drives. A nearly extinct species!

I can't find any older photos. Here's some setups from a couple of years ago.

And this disaster!

92126-1

A few 360 shots from a massive lan party I had with about 30 friends. Not super old but still fairly old. My old rig is in the background of the second pic.

Circa 2008.  I played with computers when I was younger (late 80s), but much preferred the simplicity of consoles at that time.  Also, my Moms computer was more suited for documents than gaming.  I didn`t get back into computers until 2008.

wut. i'd buy a ****ty IBM board for that green V2

I have a spread from a self-made magazine for a university project that contains an image like baldgye's above (made up from like 15 or 20 pictures) from around 2001 or 2002. I gotta take a picture of that - who has a scanner anymore!?

Anyway, that shall be posted when I can find the magazine in my moving stuff.

Whee!

This is the oldest complete photo I am aware of that I possess, from June 2004, showing my Motorola StarMax 4000/200 Mac clone (Motorola PowerPC 604e 200 MHz, 144 MB), and my Packard Bell Executive 486, taken with a friend's camera:

92349-0

I still have two small crops of two older photos from 2002, but the originals seem to be lost.

This is a bit later, from March 2005 (still not my camera yet):

92351-1

I've got my Macintosh Classic set up there (it was set up with a SCSI NIC), and my "new" Techies Pentium II 333 MHz PC with what I'm assuming was a Dell SK-1000REW QuietKey (unconfirmed — I think it was one of the ones without "QuietKey" written on it, and it died so many years back that I don't have it to confirm the model number).
