The Filco has landed!
« on: Thu, 27 August 2009, 15:12:46 »
I had a call from TNT today and our first shipment of goodies from Diatec is on the ground in the UK.
Customs took a day longer than normal - Marvelling at the quality no doubt - but I am expecting the delivery tomorrow morning.

As soon as we've checked all is in order the product will go live on http://www.keyboardco.com for ordering. As it's a small shipment this will give you guys a head start on anyone else. I have reserved some keyboards for Geekhack members so I will be getting in touch with those people.

I'll post again tomorrow to confirm the arrival.

There's a full list in the previous thread.
http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?t=6733&page=3
Tomorrow, when it's all checked in, i'll confirm again.
We've got a new URL specifically for all things Filco, but I can't remember it right now. Dohh!
Will post that up tomorrow as well.

Thanks for the info and the links, Bruce! Can you already say something about the shipping costs to Germany?

I just ran a Cherry MX3000 through our shopping cart with carriage to Germany on Royal Mail 3-5 day service. It came out at £13.29. That's a little over €15.
It shouldn't be a lot more than that. Although I don't know the exact, Gross weight yet and it can jump a little at 2KG. The Cherry is 1.78KG.

Will you have the regular FKBN87Z/EB in stock, i.e. the one with the Fukkas?  Although I can't imagine the XMs being really *that* much worse.  All the badmouthing lately smells a bit like FUD to me...
BS: Customizer, Model Ms; Alps: CSK-2101, FK-2002, AT-101 (SGI & Dell), MCK-860, FKBN87Z/EB; Cherry: Poker X, FKBN87MC/EB, WY60, G80-3000, G84-4100, TDV 5010

Deck the hall with bows of holl.....................
Oh sorry, we're in Christmas mode here this morning.
TNT have done the business, negotiated Customs, and delivered the goods.
All is as described earlier. I'm using the Zero now and I really like it. The bruise is nothing, on this one we really had difficulty finding it even though we knew what we were looking for. I like the switches too, I unplugged my Cherry 3000 with Blues to try this out and i'm certainly not thinking anything bad.

All available to order from our usual site or http://www.filcokeyboards.co.uk is also pointed to the main site.
Checked the weight too, and earlier predictions on carriage seem correct. That's £13.29 to most of Europe. And remember FREE to the UK on £50 plus orders.

Thanks to iMav and everyone on Geekhack for helping us arrive at this exciting moment.

Bruce, Do you know if the Zero boards you have received from Filco are the old outdated XM switch ones or the new Fukka ones? I know you called them XM switch, but it doesn't seem to mean much, considering various places had already been selling the new Fukka version falsely as the XM switches.

Here is an article from Majestouch on how to tell them apart:

Thanks in advance!

Hi Sixty

I've pulled a cap and it looks like the one here:-
http://sandy55.fc2web.com/keyboard/mck-89s/sw_1.jpg
But without Alps written on it. Just a number 40.
Says XM on the box too. So I'm confident.

We're not planning to get the Fukka switch model for the time being.

Thanks Artaxares

Welcome to Geekhack, I'm a noob here too.

I'm getting Tenkeyless with Browns pretty soon I hope.
I think they keep the US layout in stock in which case i'll bring some over in about a month. Blacks as well if they've got them in. I don't think they keep Blues in stock so that might be later.
Pricing on them will be about the same as the other Cherry switched models.
At the moment i'm getting everything with NKRO as I figure it's great for those who want it and no problem for those that don't.

There is a lot of less expensive Hi Vis keyboards around now but I figured. Hey, you're short sighted, that's bad enough without having to use a crap keyboard as well.
