lurker saying hi :)
« on: Tue, 24 March 2015, 14:33:49 »
been browsing geekhack since december of last year, but thought i'd say hi since my collection is beginning to grow.

i live near the university of waterloo and do a lot of typing/math/coding in my job, so mech keyboards were a natural hobby for me to dive into!

boards atm (i have a potato phone camera so not worth the pics  :p )

- poker 2 clears, blue alu tex case, vortex pbt doubleshot blue whites
- ducky shine 3 tkl with gmk dolch
- ducky shine 3 fullsize with mx greens, stock abs, i plan to put gmk hyperfuse on this board once i get them
- cm storm quickfire xt mx greens, thick ducky ccng pbt

i'm mostly into mechs for the aesthetics, but i'm also hoping to get into modding and learn from the community (will still probably lurk tho haha).

thanks to all of you for keeping this wonderful community and hobby alive!

Welcome to Geekhack!

That's a nice collection you have, and it sounds like it is already growing ;)

Potato pictures are more than welcome (and there are a few photography threads to help you get the best out of any camera).
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
