[IC] A 65% keyboard with Ortholinear Keyboards
« on: Thu, 09 April 2015, 19:01:52 »

I went with a 65% layout that still uses common key sizes, no 2.0 shift bars, 6.0 space bars, or other uncommon sizes
The Google Docs form is here.

I'm confused. How does Ortholinear fit in?

This looks like a pretty standard 65% layout to me. Also you've got two Caps Locks on your mockup and your link at the end just points to your image.

Ortholinear is making it. I just put the Cap Lock in as a placeholder of sorts, it can be any 1.75u key you want!

Or Control.

So... Are you working with Jack then, or ??

You're not giving us a lot of information here.

The title can be quite misleading.

That double capslock... Even if it is a place holder

Plus that still would leave you needing unconventional keys for most use cases.

Hey! kht120's gathering interest and I'm designing/making them.

They're the same basic construction as the Atomic/Planck, but bigger and staggered-er. I'll likely use the same bases/cases for an ortholinear 65% in the future.

He still hasn't fixed the link at the end of his post (OP).  If that Google form is supposed to be for gathering interest it's not doing a whole lot of good right now...

Just thought you should know.

He's gotten over 30 people interested, so I'm gonna move forward with getting things setup to sell them in my shop!

Yeap! Sorry, the hand-wiring kit doesn't include keycaps. I've updated the image to make a little more sense :)

I'll be adding blank Neutrino keycaps next week sometime - I'm still working out the price for them. They'll just be the ones here though: http://keyshop.pimpmykeyboard.com/products/full-keysets/dsa-blank-sets-1

Jack, thanks for putting all of this together.

Is there any way you can look into more economical shipping to Canada?

Yeah! It mostly depends on what you're ordering - if it's just plates & small stuff and no keyswitches, I can probably bring shipping down to 10USD. The more expensive shipping is to cover the heavier, bigger things. If you wanna checkout, then shoot me an email, I'll refund you right away.

Would you be making a formed bottom plate or milled case at all for the Neutrino?

Edit: Disregard my previous edit. :)

Eventually! Right now, I'm mostly gauging how many people will purchase them. I'm gonna be introducing an ortholinear layout of this size eventually, and the cases will be compatible with the Neutrino ones.

I am also interested in a milled case for the Neutrino if it ever comes to fruition
