So, my neighbour turned up last week with a Mac Classic he'd recovered from the tip. 4MB memory, 40MB HDD, no yellowing, keyboard (no, not an M0116, it's the M0487 "buckling rubber tubes" model) and Stylewriter. Downside - buggered floppy drive (some twat's managed to stuff 2 floppies into it, breaking the ingest / eject mech and physically tearing off one of the read heads).
I can probably get 7.1 and various other software onto it via appletalk if needs be (it's running 6.0.
.
So, although it's only a Classic, rather than a Color Classic, SE or SE/30, I'd rather not brutalise it too much. A Macquarium would be a horrible waste (and I don't like fish), as would gutting it to make the case into an iPad stand (I don't have an iPad anyway).
A Retina screen (iPad 3 screen +
