I'm planning on being conservative with all the Dow Corning stuff.  Each will have its own fine brush and will be lightly brushed on so you barely have a shine and have no clumps, like you do with Krytox.

I ordered Dow Corning Molykote 111, Molykote EM-30L, High Vacuum Grease 976V, 33L, and a Molybdenum Disulfide powder.  I really want to try Dow Corning G-4500 or G-4501 because they sound like they could be perfect, but they're pricey.  Between what I have on hand and what I'm getting from people, it should be an interesting review.

Awesome. I look forward to reading it.

Have you come up with a testing procedure yet?

Personally I think ~4 of each in a blind study would be solid, but I don't know if you have the time or materials.

Along the same lines, you could rig up sets of 4 gaterons on a plate and tour the plate to a couple members and only label the groups with numbers. It would be cool to see multiple "blind" perspectives on it. Only tell them what each lube is afterwards. I will soon have an extra TKL plate I could lend out for the tour (eventually would want the plate back... I have future plans for it).

I'll be cleaning the switches in an ultrasonic cleaner and applying lube.  Switches will be lubed, numbered, and put on a  stainless steel plate for testing with GMK or Cherry caps.  I will not be doing a blind test, though may share numbered switches with certain members.

I still need a sample of EK's lube if someone has some.

I got an additional dispenser of MechLube 2 I can send you, but I'm located in Germany, so only when nobody else has some. :thumb:

I'd say skip the two water based sexy lubes and get one water based and one silicone one :)
Hi :)

Test various places on the switches and with different amounts. Lube doesn't matter if they are in the wrong place or there is too much.

There are guides on how to lube switches but putting them to the test is always a good thing.

Try some switches completely dry too just to see what would happen.

Also Toothpaste.

Maybe, but probably not as he's already done his PR bit on why his stuff is superior to Krytox.

Little known secret: demik tears are the best lube.
