Changing out costar stabilizers for cherry
« on: Tue, 05 May 2015, 21:02:51 »
I have a WASD v1 keyboard and I'd like to swap the costar stabilizers for cherry ones.  I believe the current ones are plate mounted.  The question I have is how big of a project would this be?  Am I going to have to desolder all the switches?
Thanks.

All costar stabs are plate mount.

Cherry stabs will not fit into the costar only holes from a stock plate.

Cheapest method to accomplish swapping would be to swap the PCB with one of the same layout but has holes for PCB mount cherry stabs.  At this point with the PCB off, open up the costar stab holes until the cherry stabs fit through.

Thanks for the information.  That sounds like a bigger job than I want to get into.
