That's quite the lot. I'm very fond of the NMB keyboards... have two with clicky Space Invaders and they are some of my favorite.

Or do what I did and buy 4, cuts down on the per board shipping!

(he has a number of other boards as well, if you're looking for something in particular I'm sure he'll be happy to help)

I've been tempted by these space invaders too. But then I'd need to find some ANSI caps , and I'm juggling too many damn projects right now!

Soon...

I'm glad you managed to keep yourself and the keyboards above water through the flooding!

Looking forward to see what you have in store.

Thanks! I need to sort through some things but there will be lots of Model Ms and a few Model Fs in the mix. As for Cherry MX boards there may be a couple of WYSE boards with vintage (smooth!) MX blacks and some other goodies.

When I do start posting I'll update the OP and post updates at the end of the thread. I'm going to start with listing one keyboard at a time. It will take me much longer this way but will result in much better keyboards for you all - tested, lightly cleaned, nice pictures, you'll know what to expect.

So as a complete noob to vintage boards, I was hoping to get only one to add to my collection of keyboards.  How do the boards that you listed differ from Model M's?  I'm wondering if I should pick one of the Space Invaders up or wait for the Model M's that you said would be available in the future...

Everyone was once a n00b.

Well, nothing is for sale right now (sales are suspended) so you'll need to wait no matter what. :)

The IBM Model M is a classic. I'd say start with that. There are tons of them, they are well understood, there are plenty of parts around, heck they are still in production by Unicomp. Space Invaders boards are great too. I need to check through my stock to make sure I still have some good ones ready for sale. :thumb:

I'll probably wait for a Model M as my first then.  In that case, I'll keep an eye on this thread.

So is Tai Hao ;)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I believe you mean low-class replicas are in production by unicomp.

I believe you are mistaken. Unicomp doesn't manufacture replicas, they now own the patent to the Model M, and their product, structurally is identical to the Model M. I have one. They're genuine Model M's, even though they might not have the IBM badge.
All hail Hall Effect keyboards!

I hope so. I'm running this as an auction manually. The one hour silent auction at the end is designed to mitigate snipes. If I'm doing something wrong someone let me know.

XMIT, auctions are not allowed in the GH classifieds.

From classifieds rules:
Quote
Auctions
Conducting auctions is not allowed in the Classifieds subforum.  We lack appropriate software infrastructure and legal means to maintain auctions and ensure fair terms for everyone.  If you wish to sell your items as auctions, please use appropriate sites, such as eBay.  You may link your external auctions in the External Auction Links subforum.

Well, crap. I'm fine with running an auction manually - and it works, and has worked just fine on another forum - but this seems to annoy moderators elsewhere.

You do all realize that eBay takes a 10% cut, for adding very little value to a small community like ours?

I'll simply set a high price and accept offers. Let's start at 800 USD for this one (not joking). OP updated. These sell for about 500 USD on eBay so I'll consider offers in that range. But again, bear in mind that this is a fundraiser, to help a friend with some medical bills.
