Removing the spacebar on a Filco Majestouch
« on: Tue, 06 October 2009, 10:19:06 »
Is it possible to remove the spacebar on a Filco Majestouch?  It looks like it has a metal bar under the key that prevents it from coming off in the same way as the other keys.

It feels a bit sticky, so I want to take it off and see what's up.

I watched the video and that helped.  I don't own a key cap puller, so I used a thin piece of string to slide between the keys and underneath before pulling up.  Do other people use this technique?

Some of us, when without a keypuller, just used a screwdriver.

I have heard that before, but string (or fishing line) seems like it would be a lot less likely to damage your board than wedging a piece of metal between the keys.

you'll have to mount that thing on a pole, to scare away all lesser boards... :)

Ripster, you didn't cook that keyboard long enough, you can still make out Find and Paste on the front of the keys.
