After that, favourites include buckling springs, Monterey blues and other Alps switches, especially Salmon.

Just completed a silencing ring mod on my 45g HHKB, and now the DIY silenced 45g Topre is my favorite switch.

The way I feel about a switch is keyboard-dependent, but my ranking is something like the following:

Silenced 45g Topre > Silenced 55g Topre >  55g Topre > 45g Topre > IBM capacitive buckling spring (Model F) > Matias Click > Matias Quiet  > IBM membrane buckling spring (Model M) >>> Cherry mx.

I usually like tactile switches, but lubed gateron blacks with 68g springs are my favourite, with stock whites coming in second.

not enough time spent using topre to consider it a "favorite" but it was definitely nice to type on (novatouch 45g)

Model F capacitive buckling springs are clearly my favorites.  Then, it's a 3 way tie for second between Model M buckling springs, Monterey Blues, and modded SKCM cream ALPS on my AEKII.  In 5th place are the white ALPS switches on my Omnikey.  Next, clicky Space Invaders.

I tried Cherry MX blues on a Corsair (I can't remember which model), but I wasn't that crazy about the switches.  I did not care for the stock AEKII switches (SKCM cream, damped ALPS).  They felt very mushy, and I did not like them at all.  Other than these listed,  I don't have any experience with other switches.

Did you mod the Cream Alps by taking out the dampers by any chance? Also, if you like them and White Alps, see if you can get your hands on some Blue Alps, you'd like them ;) .

Yes, I am very much interested in trying Blue ALPS.  However, these boards are generally outside my price range, and I don't think that I'll have the luck that you did with your Acer board.  With the AEKII switches, I removed the dampers and bent a couple of the tabs on the leafs to mimic those on a clicky switch.  Obviously, the mushiness is gone, and the sound is much better, as there is an audible click.  The switches are very smooth.

55g Topre > 45g Topre > MX Greens > MX Clears > Buckling Spring

Though if the new Zealios Gaterons are as good as I think they'll be...they may trump the 55g cup rubber sensation.

Short answer: none!

Long answer: I'm not totally satisfied with any of the switches I've tried so far. MX/Gateron blues are "ok". Ergo clears are "ok" too.

1. Buckling spring/MX green - for tactility, resistance and sound
2. 45g Topre (non-silenced HHKB) - for feel and sound
3. MX black - for resistance (the choice at work since someone criticised my SSK).
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

For me it's hard to say which switch is my favourite since it must be paired with a proper board.
I equally love those 3 switches and consider them my faves: Topre 55G, Buckling Spring (I actually prefer Model M to Model F, as I don't like metallic ping of Fs that much), Vintage MX Black (with standard springs and ligher springs from MX Blues).
I currently rotate between 3 keyboards: Realforce 55G, Model M 1391401 from 1988 and ErgoDox with Vintage Ghetto MX Red (vintage blacks with lighter springs) and Round 5 caps. I love all those keyboards equally although if I had to keep only one, I'd probably pick Realforce, because overall construction quality, superb consistency (in feel and sound) between keys, best implementation of stabilisers for larger keys and the idea of being capacitive.
To me rubber and capacitance feels more natural (and durable) than electrical contact between metal parts (or membranes).

Definitely MX-Clears for me. I just love the firm springiness and always return back to them.

I do like MX-Blacks too, but miss the tactility. All other switches are too light for me, but that is personal preference. I still have to try MX-Greens as they could be quite nice because of the required force.

I guess I am a Orc hitting my keys and therefore enjoy switches with stronger actuation force ;D

Heavily modified MX Clears, although I suspect the new Zealios will dethrone them soon!

I need to try more Alps switches, but I dislike the wobbly caps on most of those I've tried and the lack of aftermarket keycap options is a definite turn-off for me.
Buying more keycaps,
it really hacks my wallet,
but I must have them.

Well, I've only ever tried Cherry MX Reds, Browns, Blacks, Blues & 55g Topre switches.

I love the 55g Topre switch above everything else, then a close second would be Blues/Browns.

Would like to try Clears one day, along with Matias, Buckling Spring & 45g Topre switches.

62g Clear, unlubed. I am very intrigued to try Zeal's purple clear sliders though, they look like they might be way less scratchy when brand new.
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

Jailhouse Blues and Ergo Clears

In the Cherry universe, that.

Since I discovered Soarer's Converter 3 years ago, one of my 3 battleship F-122s has occupied my desk at least 90% of the time.

Model Ms are nice, I prefer the old ones with heavy plates, but there is something to be said for a new Unicomp with native USB and a warranty.
SSKs make me crazy because all my computers boot up with NumLock "on" and I touch type gibberish until I figure it out. But they are very cute.

In the Alps world, blue rules, but I have a couple of excellent orange-transplanted old-school chassis that are nice and quiet.
Matias switches have felt less crisp and more mushy than my Alps, but maybe it's just me.

NMB Hi-Tek "Space Invaders" have spectacular qualities all around, and I wish that I could get a "standard modern" keyboard with them.
I have a beautiful NIB Televideo with linear whites that would be great except that it is RJ-11 with apparently an impossible protocol.

I also have an Acer that qualifies more as "mechanisms" rather than switches and an SMK with clicky whites that are both very enjoyable to use.

model f > 55g topre > orange/salmon alps > 62g ergo clears > 65g mx blues

i want to try me some complicated blue alps ^-^

Blue ALPS are awesome! Did you find the orange ALPS to be significantly better than pink? Or are they too similar.

If you live in AZ you can try my keyboards. I usually keep plenty of different ALPS and MX and buckling springs.

Orange is earlier, and, theoretically better, but condition makes more difference than the minor changes in manufacturing.

I've been on Ms since the beginning with brief times (as in minutes) on other switches.  But with the non-existence of a bone stock bluetooth M, I will need to learn what other switches I like to get a bluetooth one that can do double duty on the desktop and phone.  So far, the only onces I've found are the Filco or Matias an I'm not sure how either will feel.

Why don't you try usb to bluetooth converter(aka usb2bt, you can find it on Amazon)? I know someone who makes keyboard wireless with it(sorry I don't know whether the keyboards include Model M) .
It will need an extra battery instead of usb power supply, but If what you want to do is just using Ms on phones, it will go.

Clear Cherry stems with 65g gold springs installed in translucent Gateron bottoms with transparent tops. In other words, my version of Ergo clears.
