IBM 1390131 Model M keyboard Clicky 1986 AT

It's quite a reasonable price for one of the first few Model M variants—but this one also has the original Model-F-style label with large barcode, which is pretty rare on 1390131s.

I got the first one of these 2, so it seemed only right to tell you about the other.  :?)

I saw this thread as soon as you posted it, and I almost bought it. Those 131's are my Achilles heel. But I resisted this time. I don't think I need another one. :)

Really! Obviously I can't speak for everyone, but I'd never consider going on a Caribbean cruise without purchasing a 1390131 especially for the occasion.

Thanks to whoever bought this, otherwise I might have.

I had $60 in my Paypal account that I really need for other things (eg computer gear for my kids) but the 1390131 is my favorite M.

Honestly, without pulling them out to check, I couldn't tell you if I own three or four of these currently...it's either three or four.

Do you have any with bar code label? That is really special.

I can't remember, but I think maybe I do. I almost bought this one for that very reason, but decided to save my $$ for the cruise.

Gee, I just assumed all you serious collectors kept spreadsheets with your KBs' model and part numbers, dates of manufacture, restoration status, and so on. Am I the only one who does this? Could I possibly be even more OCD than the average GH maniac?

Possibly.

I don't do it because it would need to include "net price paid" and, if sold, "net price collected" with a final tally at the bottom.

That is something that I really don't want to know.

LOL! Exactly. I haven't had the courage to put math functions in mine for that very reason. Ignorance is bliss! There's also a chance my wife might see such totals, and I don't even want to think about that.  :?P

BTW, I've gone back and marked this topic "[SOLD]", and recommend other OPs do the same. This keeps subsequent readers from getting their hopes up—but the general discussions remain, which are usually interesting enough.

Dude—you're cruising now, right? Will you be letting us know how it's going? I'd like to hear about it, even if it's not KB-related.

P.S.: Huh, you can't put an image in "quote" tags, apparently.

I have one with a bar code label from 86.  I still need to clean it and replace a few missing caps.  I can confirm that they are awesome and mine feels significantly different from my 91 or 92 terminal M.  I paid slightly less for mine but this one looks to be in great shape.  Whoever got the other one should be very happy.

it was me

It was in excellent condition, barely needed any cleaning. Nevertheless I opened it and fully cleaned it. I'm still deciding if I'll bolt mod it or not. I probably will since I have like 6 other bolt modded model Ms

I keep promising myself that I'll start paring down the IBM collection but then I see KBs like this one. I needed to have a match for my barcode 1390121! This 131 is somewhat "young" for a barcode: some of the other plants had already switched over by June.

The KB was extremely well packaged: I have rarely received KBs packaged this well. The cable is also in pristine condition.
