« on: Thu, 17 September 2015, 10:12:37 »
Hey guys, do you happen to know how to connect a Northgate Omnikey 102 to a computer? I bought orihalcons AT connector but am unsure if it will work. Please help, cheers

Pretty sure Omnikeys are DIN5 connectors. I use a DIN5 to PS/2 adapter and then a PS/2 to USB adapter. But I think Orihalcon's adapter is much simpler since it goes from DIN5 to USB.

The Northgates came with a female mini-DIN6 socket (aka PS/2 connector) on the case and supplied a cable with an AT connector on the other end.

You can convert that back down to PS/2 or use a straight male-male PS/2 cable.

Be warned: there are cables out there that look like they should work but do not actually have all the wires connected inside.

Thanks guys. So orihalcons adapter will work? Or does it not have the required cables inside of it?

If you have the original cable, an AT-to-PS/2 + a PS/2-to-USB adapter should work fine.
It does not need to be the advanced Orihalcon model with a pseudo-Teensy inside, but that one would be OK.
