SOLD

For sale - a Siig Minitouch keyboard with Hua-Jie Alps mount switches. Asking $50 shipped CONUS (or $35 + shipping, whichever is cheaper).

Used on and off for a week.
Fully functional and clean.
Missing rubber blob over Minitouch label.

Haven't used a FK-2001 but I believe the white Alps on my Filco Zero are simplified. I can kind of tell the difference from the SKCM Whites on my Unitek.

Well they are exactly the ones in your Zero then.

If you remove the "clicker" part from the switch, I think it feels nice.

Do you have to desolder the board to remove the clicker?

I have a Chicony Board with Montery blue alps. Would I be able to put those in? I heard that these montery alps have different pins than regular alps but I don't know much

That's a good question. The link in the OP about these Alps clone switches, makes mention of them being similar to Montereys. But it doesn't mention pin positions.

Monterey Alps have an extra pin that this PCB won't support. So no, you can't swap in normal Alps switches.

As far as I can tell, there's two different PCBs. Mine didn't have the extra legs. I could be mistaken though.

I think you all are confusing yourselves.

~~The Siig Minitouch I have, the PCB didn't allow for me to put in Monterey Blues because they have a third leg (I think). By normal Alps, I mean Alps or Alps-mount switches that only have two legs.~~

Looks like the monterey switches have a different housing design that don't fit into the same space as a SKCL/SKCM Alps. See this picture of the bottom of a Monterey Switch versus the bottom of an Alps SKCL/SKCM switch. So I still think there's different PCBs but I can't confirm that.

So to make things easy, the one in the OP allows for you to swap to things like Matias or complicated or simplified Alps. But not Monterey.

My understanding is Monterey Blues are not compatible with Alps PCBs due to different pin locations (not because they have three legs - mine don't). I'm in agreement that there are probably two different PCB versions of the Minitouch.

FWIW, I have verified Monterey (SMK) switches do fit on an Enabler so it's possible that some of the custom PCBs around here with support for MX and Alps would work. jacobolus also notes that SMK switches are compatible with MX plates (see here). Someone should try to see if their Infinity works with SMK Alps-mount switches and report back...in another thread.

Here's the pin of a monterey
They don't have third leg, but the location of the pins are different (in height and width between two pins) that the normal SKCM alps pcb is not compatible
the only way to do it is to hardwire it, which I'm currently doing but still on going
