IBM Model M 1390120 Vintage Clicky Mechanical Keyboard (eBay)

Missing its left Ctrl key, is all:


115925-0


It includes the lovely, distinctive 1st-generation black coiled cable, and the original Model-F-style back label with large barcode:

Buy It Now price is $39.99 + 12.99 shipping, entirely reasonable for such a nice 1st-generation Model M. If I didn't already have one, I'd buy it myself. Cheers!

It looks like it is missing the print screen shell as well.

I actualy never tried buckling spring before. I may buy just to try it...

The demand for the 1390120 is so fickle ... I've tried selling a couple in the past and had to beg to get rid of them ... on the other hand some folks have no trouble selling them for $150+.

Regarding the PDP-10: I'm sure the tapes have been destroyed long ago or have suffered bit rot but I would love the opportunity of cruising Compuserve on one of these bad boys.  Either playing games, messing around with the CB simulator, reading old forums / etc on an honest to goodness PDP.

If I was looking for a "parts donor" M the 1390120 would be my top choice, and if it had a bar code label I might even use the case bottom just because it is so cool!

But the lack of LEDs makes the 1390131 the prize M for me.

Well, I remember when Cindy had about a dozen of these a year ago for $75 each + shipping. If I had the cash at the time, I would have bought one.

I have 2 pristine (but not virgin) 1390131s: 1 is totally stock and the other is heavily modified (way beyond what 1 avid collector does) - my #1 primo Model M.

But both have been carefully boxed and are gathering dust since I found the Model F.
