Drama of the Month (January) - Nominations
« on: Thu, 04 February 2016, 10:02:35 »
Hello everyone, this is the nominations for the Drama of the Month awards!
We have many things that we celebrate here on Geekhack such as keyboards and artisans of various different flavours, but one of the biggest features of Geekhack would be the drama and flame wars.
With that said I would like to have an unofficially official ceremony for picking out the hottest of flame wars that we have seen. There should be enough drama to go around for a monthly celebration!

Please note that you don't have to be civil in this thread at all. As part of the celebration for drama it would only be fitting to create more of it!

Rules:
1) The drama must have been present within the month of discussion. It does not matter if the drama started prior or continued on in the following month, but it must have happened at some point during the selected month.
2) You may nominate any thread from any forum. Though there won't be a shortage of drama even if it's contained to Geekhack, sometimes our flaming turns into a wildfire and spreads across to other forums. Flames that powerful deserve to be in the spotlight!
3) You may make any number of nominations you like. The only catch is that some threads may be combined into one large nomination if they are about the same issue.
4) I don't care if you ****s are civil or not. I already know all of you lot are a bunch of ****lords so go ahead and be yourselves! Furthermore, I will allow the nomination of Drama of the Month threads if things get heated.

I wonder if ripster should be a default nomination. Or perhaps he should be excluded entirely for fairness.

He's more of an ever-present tension than an award winning drama queen.

jeez it's gonna be really hard to choose between SP Price Increases and who owns a colorway/pulse/Mito Drama. Gonna have to go with Mito though, it's just a classic saga spanning multiple websites.

Literally the worst idea I have ever come up with. I should shut this down before I go too deep.

I'm thinking just to get PayPal to side with him and refund his balance. They may not care about screenshots, so that's a loss. Even if yuktsi used the original payment to ship the item and provide tracking, tinpham can just tell PayPal it obviously wasn't delivered to his address and so he never received it.

It's pretty shoddy. PayPal has a lot to deal with. I know people give them a lot of ****, and they do have questionable practices, but think about it: They must deal with stuff in the hundreds every day. There's only so much they can do with limited proof.

I myself am dealing with a sticky situation with a chargeback (I even provided proof of delivery and whatnot), but I'm considering kissing that money goodbye for the time being.
