Did you try anything different? A friend said to use a knife, but I don't want to risk damaging the cap  :-X

I've had this issue before

Don't force on the cap, if it's too tight you'll likely break the stem. I use a small file to slowly widen the cruciform on the bottom of the keycap, any local hardware store should have one that'll work. An exacto knife could work but I don't think you have as much control over the size as a small file gives you.
People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

The dumber the reason the more it must be done

So I'm able to put my moondrop, but not the bombking on my keyboard. The stem is too tight, cause when I tried to push down, the stem just presses down into the switch.
Anyone have any suggestions I could try? Or is this something I need to let ETF know?
Thanks.
Mine was very tight and I got it to work eventually.  In retrospect maybe I shouldn't have taken the risk of breaking the stem..

No special tricks that I used.

Don't use a knife. Reach out to ETF first to see what he says.

These are quite tight which is great because Gateron heads these days seem very thin. If you have a Gateron switch lying around (clear/black) give it a whirl there and then on a thicker headed switch.  I had this exact problem

I didn't plan on getting this set. Everything just kind of fell into place. What a happy little accident.

FYI shinzo my eggface also has a hairline Crack.  You can only see it if you look closely but I am scared of this happening.  Let me know what you do to shore it up as I'll do the same with mine.

Seems like I have seen that a few of the new caps have REALLY tight stems. Tally, was it cracked when you received it or after put it on, Just curious.

I had received a Sparkey that scared the hell out of me to put on.

It came this way but it is very very slight.  I just don't want it to blow up like the one in the picture above. :/

i'm just going to leave mine unmounted for now. i'd hate for that part of the stem to break all the way off.

Mine seemed far too tight visually and I couldn't get them on (didn't want to force them) but they seem to be fine now. I just had to be very gentle with them and line them up perfectly. Once they're properly centered they don't take any effort to put on.
I typed this post on my Slanck. I also developed a stronger, cleaner, easier handwiring method.

Old post from ETF here, and I remember seeing it somewhere else too. Perhaps in a catalog of fugus. See below.

Didn't know about GMK Miami Nights. Thanks!
