Das Keyboards all made in China now? ( no new Costar)
« on: Mon, 15 February 2016, 13:34:34 »
Hello gh. Are all Das Keyboards made in china these days ? (meaning quality was lowered as many were complaining about). Even the ultimate? I was looking to buy a new keyboard and was really considering a Das Keyboard ( maybe a WASD or Filco if Das is not what it used to be). Thank you for your time.

Regards,
Oscar

p.s I am sorry about the multiple posts but when I pressed 'tab' the website creates the post without even me finishing.

I would suggest a KUL as a good alternative. Very solidly built boards, although I suppose that you would have to be okay with a TKL layout. Up to you, but I definitely think that KUL deserves a look.

As for whether or not the quality has lowered, I'm not entirely sure. I owned a Das4 for a while, but that was literally within a week of when they came out, so I can't really speak to their recent quality changes, if there have been any.

Hey guys thank you for your replies. I would definitely consider one if I went for TKL. I am trying my hardest to find a good full layout keyboard at the moment as I see there are better options and colors with TKL lately. Now that I started working I like keeping my numberpad just in case. People made a thing out of Das quality going down in a post here but seems all went quiet afterwards(that was like 3 years ago).

Looking at WASD maybe or Filco if that is the case...although would like to know if someone can confirm for Das quality lately.

I'd go with the WASD V2. I think they have a GB on Massdrop right now!

I'd also vote for WASD V2.

If you're old school you can always go for Filco, and if you're poor CM Storm XT is good alternative.

Otherwise Leopold is good too though it's not Costar.

Filco and leopold are really good too, but I like my WASD better. Leopold < Filco < WASD
SSKs for everyone!

Thank you all very much for your input. I had no idea WASD keyboard was that good but one thing before I go ahead and buy one. WASD ofc offers a lot of keycap colors etc. What is the difference say between WASD keycaps and tai hao doubleshots which I am really considering to buy. Or should I post this on the keycap section? I am really interested in certain tai hao combination but if quality and feel are the same I don't think I need to get them now.
