Pink is not rare. As someone mentioned above, Hendy had a stock of 10 or more just a couple of months ago.

Now if it's orange or yellow blanks, that's a different story.

Now if it's orange or yellow blanks, that's a different story.

Except that pink is really sought after for pairing will with the white blanks. And for just being pink.

In particular I wanted it to match for my watermelon set, some blanks instead of the pink printed ones that I have.

And the ten sets that were sold, sold out in less than an hour with most of them either being kept in collections of being flipped.

yeah, since hendy prices his items in rupiah at reasonable prices for indonesians, it was a crazy deal for US buyers at the time of the sale because of how weak the idr was against the dollar (one of the worst positions it's been in decades). iirc they sold out in under 10 mins (TOPRE CORP, HELLO?!!!!).

if he posted the sets now, it'd have been pushing $100 per set (which we'd gladly still pay of course).

haha reflex.

amazon JP still has HHKB blanks.  shipping + proxy is a little expensive, but it ends up being cheaper than getting them from EK if you order a couple of things (more blanks, more hhkbs, printed color realforce keysets, etc).

nah, since there are four or five diff people who have the sets up for trade now, they'd just have to say they got the set in a trade and they're good.

I wouldn't be too sure about this. Unlike Beanie Babies these sort of items are actually scarce and have become true collector's items.

I remember back when I was playing maplestory, I had rare items that were only available at launch but I had paid a lot of in game currency for them years later.

I kid you not, weeks after I had obtained them, Nexon released a special crate that contained, you guessed it, those same items that were considered collector's items.

All it takes to crash the prices for these is if more topre sets are produced.

However, like I mentioned with the sansui headphones on another thread, if there are no more stock being produced then the prices will likely never recover.

But didn't they approach matt3o about making a custom colorway for the hobby market?
It definitely looks like they're trying to focus more on their business line but that doesn't mean they can't produce a set of keycaps and release it on amazon or something.
