Hi All!!
« on: Fri, 04 March 2016, 17:25:28 »
Hi everyone!!

I'm new to geekhacks but not new to mechanical keyboards. Currently have a Filco tenkeyless.
I joined in the hopes of finding some Photoshop and/or Lightroom keycaps.

Going to the keycaps sub-forum now :thumb:

Photoshop shortcut keycaps? You don't have access to a printer?

Of course I do but I'm not sure what you're getting at. This is what I found so far https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=80020.0

Seems like a lot of excess. I use shortcuts for Inkscape, Gimp, Blender (Video editing and 3D Modeling) and in the past I used Photoshop as well but when I needed shortcuts I'd print it out and within a few days I would have most of it set to memory. I get that some people might want dedicated keys for certain programs. I can't understand why a person would want a full keyset for that purpose (VIM excluded of course).

Good luck with the GB!

Welcome to Geekhack!

I have not heard of Photoshop shortcut keycaps.

You could try getting some relegendable keycaps and printing the legends yourself.  This sort of thing from PMK: http://pimpmykeyboard.com/dcs-relegendables-pack-of-10/

Or you could find somewhere that will pad-print your own designs, and have them make a set for you.  WASD, for example, let you upload designs to print on keycaps: http://www.wasdkeyboards.com/index.php/products/printed-keycap-singles/custom-art-cherry-mx-keycaps.html
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
