Church Of Topretology Presents: Another HHKB Tour! (OVER)
« on: Fri, 04 March 2016, 22:01:45 »
Hello, beautiful people! I now have two HHKBs, and I can only use one at a time. My loss is your gain! Here are the rules:

You want to try hhkb? you got it. 200 posts/2 months requirement. Address + contact info needed (including number). DONT STEAL MY ****. DONT STEAL MY ****. DONT STEAL MY ****. DONT STEAL MY ****. DONT STEAL MY ****. DONT STEAL MY ****. DONT STEAL MY ****. DONT STEAL MY ****.

Yes, I copied demik's post. No, the Clacks don't come with it. No, I won't pay you for converting (sorry!). If you don't meet the requirements, post anyways! Maybe I'll consider you. If you do meet the requirements, I still reserve the right to not add you to the list. Sorry.

We'll start this off with just five for now.

List 1:
1. Hispes - 9405 8036 9930 0211 6418 18
2. grav3serker
3. abjr - 9405 8036 9930 0218 8601 99
4. bmilcs - 9405 5036 9930 0300 5321 01
5. fohat.digs - 1zees2t10390000416 - UPS

Nope, just regular, plain old, HHKB.

I secretly hope it is returned to you as Type-S. Aside from the implication that someone completely stripped down your keyboard. It's the thought that counts.

Does it count if I wasn't a part of the tour but thinking about converting anyways because of the tour thread?

Another very generous offer :)

People, please respect this HHKB and make sure it gets back to its owner in good condition!

If these tours keep going well, then they are likely to keep happening, which is a good thing!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I would like to try it out. I don't meet the post requirement but I've been around for 2 years now. I've also met Joey Quinn, CLiB, DrHubblePHD and participated in CPTBadAss's Novatouch tour, so hopefully one of them can verify that I'm not a douche. Thanks!

I know I only have 80 posts but I've been a part of this type of post before in my wetshaving forums. Under this user name at badger and blade and the shave nook, I participated in countless trades and sales. I swear I'm good for it! Also, my user name is Necrowyn on Ebay with 100% 60+ feedback.

More proselytizing by the Church of the Glorified Rubber Dome I see.  To counter this, I will be starting my own tour with blackjack and hookers, although the blackjack and hookers will need to be acquired seperately.

So it's a cherry tour.  Since its full of disappointment and underwhelming.

I can't imagine this keyboard being much better than my current MX Clears w/ PBT key caps ;]

Clipped stabs and lubed modifiers. I'm enjoying this very much so.

HHKB has PBT keycaps!

And give it a day or two use and you'll start to get the feel for it.

There is a certain amount of culture shock the first time you use an HHKB due to the small size, lightness and slightly different layout, but once you've used it (exclusively, preferably) for a little while you'll start to really appreciate these attributes.

Exclusive use is also the best way to get used to the layout. Because I copy-paste all day at work the location of "control" is perfect for me. Still need to try it out for gaming when I get the chance though.

If it were backlit I'd be able to get rid of my QFR altogether.

Ah, a Windows user.

Mac uses Cmd-C and Cmd-V for copy/paste, which kinda makes the Control key placement irrelevant.

If you can land a set of the pure white caps from the Ducky 104UB-DK45S you won't need backlighting as long as there is a monitor on nearby. With lights out the legends are totally legible lit only by the glow of the monitor.

Caps Lock is key of limited use in a prime position. Sun keyboards got it right. I've been mapping Caps Lock to left Control since forever in Windows via regedit -- that's 50% more Control in the bottom left corner of my keyboard.  Ever considered mapping Cmd to your Caps Lock?  50% more Cmd sounds compelling!

Just waiting on a type-s and/or 55g converted tour. Like rowdy said, if this "tour" thing is respected, that just might happen.

Please don't steal his ****!

My type-s went on a tour once, I missed it too much.  It is a 55g type-s now.  maybe one day, but I use it way too much right now

With my job, I also copy and paste all day. I've remapped my Pok3r: CAPS = FN, CAPS + E = paste, CAPS + R = copy, and then a few fancy macros for quickly alt tabbing, selecting browser urls and copying them.

It's amazing. Control is so very awkward to use :)

I'm very excited to try this board though. I know full program-ability is possible through the Hasu controller.

I would be down for an extended tryout. Put me on the list, beginning or end. I live near Atlanta.
Citizens United violates the essence of what made America a great country in its political system. Now it’s just an oligarchy, with unlimited political bribery being the essence of getting the nominations for president or to elect the president.
So now we’ve just seen a complete subversion of our political system as a payoff to major contributors, who want and expect and sometimes get favors for themselves after the election’s over.”

Whoa, you've not tried an HHKB yet? I almost don't want to break that record.  :))

No, I have played around with them. Just never had one on my desk for multiple days. Don't worry, tactility is too important to me. I won't be going over to the dark side, unless I end up in an office sometime where noise is taboo.

Then welcome aboard! I think that's all five for now. Need to find myself a box for it and get everything in order.

I would like to try it out. I don't meet the post requirement but I've been around for 2 years now. I've also met Joey Quinn, CLiB, DrHubblePHD and participated in CPTBadAss's Novatouch tour, so hopefully one of them can verify that I'm not a douche. Thanks!

Happy two-year anniversary!

I'll add you to the list.  :thumb:

Awesome. Thank you!
