which SGI keyboard is mechanical switch?

The 9500829 and 9500900 keyboards in that list use white Alps with the rubber dampers.  This is shown in the Wiki here.

To make matters more confusing, some of them only work with SGI's early machines. Although they use the same Mini-DIN 6 connector as the PS/2, the pinout is different, and plugging one into a PS/2 machine will fry the keyboard and possibly damage your motherboard as well.

"AT-101W" is a good part number (with or without the dash) for the mechanical SGI.

It would be AT-101, they only made 101-key Alps keyboards for the SGIs.

How do you know what model number SGI boards only work with their machines, I got offered one today but now im not sure if it will work or not.

Take this with a pinch of salt (the compatibility lists come from a Japanese source — I don't own any SGI equipment), but this might help you:

The ones that work with the Onyx and original Indigo are the non-PS/2 friendly ones, some P/Ns here - http://www.sgidepot.co.uk/sgidepot/kybdsmice.html

The non-PS/2 ones look different to the PS/2 ones too - the older ones are flatter on the front face, compare:

Even though the angles are different you should be able to see that the lack of contours (if that's the right word?) above the top row and lock lights on the old ones.
