HHKB + Linux [help me senpai!]
« on: Thu, 17 March 2016, 08:37:35 »
I got a hhkb pro 2 and i'm trying to use it with my arch linux, but now that i'm trying out this tilingwm and it requires me to hit the SUPER aka, Windows key, I just can't seem to get it to work at all.

At the moment i've got all the switches set to off except SW3  - in order to flip DEL and backspace.

How exactly do I use the super, or windows key in Linux?

and meta key in linux = alt?

thanks in advance

Alright, until someone more knowledgeable gets here, I'll try to help you out.  :thumb:

Try flipping dip switch (now going to refer to as "DS") one to "OFF" and DS2 to "ON." This will put the HHKB in Macintosh mode. From what I've read, this has remedied the issue for some people. Let me know what happens.

Don know, but found this on elitekeyboards site

DIP Switch | Key/Function | SW OFF | SW ON
SW3          | Delete Key    | Delete   | Backspace
SW4          | Meta Key      | Meta      | Fn
SW5          | Alt Key          | Alt         | Meta
                 | Meta Key      | Meta      | Alt
SW6          | Wake Up      | Disable  | Enabled

They say "The Meta key functions as the Windows key under MSWindows and as the Command key under OSX"

I took it from here
https://elitekeyboards.com/products.php?sub=pfu_keyboards,hhkbpro2&pid=pdkb400b
Scroll down....to find this table
