Hi folks !
I've been selling some "soft" O-rings (40A) since September 2014 through Geekhack classifieds and I am now offering them directly from my webstore :http://lpwl.bigcartel.com
These O-rings are made from silicone rubber with a Shore hardness of 40A.
It reflects a personal preference - acquired through research and experimentation with different hardnesses and rubber materials - for what I consider to be the "sweet spot" of softness which will help you :
- Quiet down your keyboard.
- Eliminate almost all of the shock of bottoming out hard plastic to hard plastic.
- Minimize the fatigue in your fingers during long typing and gaming sessions.
I'm offering three different sizes :
"Thin" = 1.5mm
"Thick" = 2.5mm
... from which you can choose the amount you need to cover your keyboard :
60% ⇔ 75 pcs per bag
Tenkeyless ⇔ 90 pcs per bag
Full size ⇔ 110 pcs per bag
Full size + extras ⇔ 125 pcs per bagNote:
All sizes are made of transparent rubber which is better for backlit keycaps since light will shine through the O-ring with minimal obstruction “Thin” O-rings
(1.5mm) have a very small key travel reduction but they dampen the noise pretty well and eliminate almost all of the shock you feel when the key hits the bottom.
If you wish to significantly reduce key travel, you should get some thicker ones !“Thick” O-rings
(2.5mm) will bottom out just after the key’s registration point and simulate scissor switches on laptops or thin membrane keyboard, but still retain the “mechanical” feel. “XXL” O-rings
(3.0mm) are specially made to be used with DSA profile keycaps, but they are reaaaally
too thick to be used with Cherry and OEM profile keycaps. ∼ Pricing :"Thin" O-rings :
