Hello, I'm presenting my
heavily modified keyboard.
Pictures in galleries (final, assembly etc), bottom of my website:
here

Video with its features (
link):
It uses
Teensy 3.1 MCU with attached OLED display (fixed colors, resolution is 128x64 mono).
Has editable macros and sequences (shown in video, read youtube descriptions for more details).
I got carried away with the display, hence so
many demos and I even wrote
a game for it

ATM it has 2 extra layers:
Layer 2 (left blue LED) is for sequence/macro use.
Layer 3 (right orange LED) for mouse move, media/audio player keys and extra keys (F13-F24) for anything else in OS.
Software is using
Kiibohd controller, so has all the benefits that come with it already.
E.g. layouts and keys are fully configurable (needs code rebuild and flashing).
Technically, it was made on A4 Tech KX-100 (really cheap thing, bit wobbly keys, high tolerances in scissors, cheap plastic).
Key feature (and 1st thing I did) here was the rubber dome reduction (my 3rd such mod).
Details
on my website and results shown on
video.
This ended in about 23g (gram force) key actuation, people having such light pressing keys surely know how extremely important it is to have it very low.
It's my first keyboard with own controller (and display) so thought I'd share it in a post.
I'm not a fan of rubber domes,
but definitely find mechanical switches meh (and just a commercial waterfall)and I hope to someday have a cheap, capacitive touch, probably self made layout keyboard.
