I added a Majestouch 2 with blacks to my collection recently as my first tenkeyless mech, and after adjusting to costar stabs and the tape fix for SA caps, I must say that I'm loving the heaviness of Blacks, and I don't even mind the scratchiness. What I am less enthusiastic about, however, is the fact that I cannot use anything except for OEM profile caps on the arrow cluster (haven't tried Cherry yet as my Originative cyrillic kit and EnjoyPBT kit have yet to arrive) as the keycaps scrape against the top housing of the keyboard. Once SA arrowkeys go down, they stay halfway down and don't come up on their own because of the friction with the side of the housing. Tested with Modern Selectric, Troubled Minds, and even Filco's own set of Row 3 SA; all end up scraping against the edge and don't depress/rebound properly.
Luckily, I ordered a Tex TKL case at the same time as my Majestouch, so I'll get a chance to see if that improves it (I've heard that it requires some manual aligning during installation so perhaps it won't be a problem with the Tex case). Although there is little space between all the keys and the edge of the housing, the problem doesn't manifest anywhere else on the keyboard except for the left, down and right arrow keys (up arrow has plenty of space between it and the housing for some reason). Anything I can do about it, or am I going to have to wait for my Tex case? Anyone else having this problem?
I've been hearing nothing but praise for Filcos so this comes as a bit of a surprise to me. I also discovered that my left shift is actually not aligned properly; the hole in the plate is rotated clockwise by a degree or two, thus the switch and subsequently left shift cap is a bit lopsided. The left shift doesn't actually bother me, but this scraping against the housing does.
