Typing speed
« on: Sat, 02 January 2010, 12:44:11 »
Just curious, what is the typing speed of all these keyboard enthusiasts?

Try it: http://app.typrx.com/

I am finding that site to be very addicting. I am a modest touch typer, but I hope to improve. I average 60 wmp.

By the way, every person here who owns two or more $100+ keyboards should be able to easily get on the top 100 list. Not by the merit of the keyboard, but because it seems obvious to me that someone who cares so much about keyboards should have spent some time trying to increase their typing speed. It's not hard, the number 100 is 66.8 wpm. Even I am on that list (though barely).

I'm guessing since nobody is posting in here, that you're all (except chimera15) embarrassed about your typing speeds? :)

With a little practice, I've manage to get my average to over 70 wpm. Hopefully, with a little practice everyday, I can reach 100 wpm in a few weeks.

We're embarrassed because typing speed is under our significance radar. Beep Beep. Nothing there, Captain!
I trolled Geekhack and all I got was an eponymous SPOS.

Nobody's responding because TyprX and this typing speed topic has been beaten to death. The only way you'll get people here to chatter up about typing speed is if you manage to cleverly invoke the name of Ron Mingo or Barbara Blackburn in a way that hasn't been done before.

Hmm... it seems you are right. I didn't notice until I did a search and found this and this.

I gotta say, I'm disappointed. It seems like there are a handful of member who are in the 100 range, but the majority are around 50-70.

It's because your trolling technique needs work.

Excuse me? You think I was trying to cause an argument? If you felt insulted by my innocent comment then that's your problem, not mine. If you do have any problems, feel free to PM me.

I would like to keep the thread on topic and would prefer to drop the subject before it gets out of hand.

Excuse me?

Don't take it personally. Your trolling technique is just fine. You made Ripster, Webwit, and Ricercar appear. That's quite a trifecta. You must be doing something right.
