After a long wait, it's finally the time to initiate this group buy. As discussed before, the most important feature for this keyboard is hot swapping. No soldering needed at all. You can install any MX switches to the PCB slots, and you can change the MX switches anytime you want even while itís still connected to the computer. After countless testing, you donít need to worry about their firmness. Once the MX switch is properly installed, it fits stably on the slot. LEDs are hot swappable as well. They're pre-built so all you need to do is putting the switches on the keyboard.

Smart 68 Features:
- Hot Swappable Switch & LED (Supports all Cherry MX-like switches like Gateron)
- Programmable (Same PCB Controller as GH60)
- Aluminum Case (Black, Grey, Silver, and Red available)
- Carbon Fiber Plate and Aluminum Plate (Black, Grey, Silver, and Red available)
- Plate Stabilizers
- ANSI US Layout only, no ISO layout at this time
- Micro USB Port (Smart 68 V1 & V2)
- V1 has no edge around the keyboard, and V2 has the edge around the keyboard to cover up the switches.
- V1 has LEDs on top of the switches, V2 has LEDs on the bottom of the switches.
- The USB port is in the middle on a V1 and on the right on a V2.
- The final product of V2 will NOT have the smart logo on it because it seems most people don't like the design of this logo.
- V2 is a bit taller than V1.
- Compatible with switches including Cherry, Gateron, and Kailh.
- Normally a complete GMK, SP, and Taihao keyset should have all keys needed for the Smart 68. GeekKeys full keyset is also compatible with this board: http://www.geekkeys.com/keycap-brands/.

Smart Pad Features:
- Hot Swappable Switch & LED (Supports all Cherry MX-like switches like Gateron)
- Programmable (Same PCB Controller as GH60)
- Aluminum Case (Black, Grey, Silver, and Red available)
- Carbon Fiber Plate and Aluminum Plate (Black, Grey, Silver, and Red available)
- PCB Stabilizers
- Mini USB Port (Smart Pad V1 & V2)
- V1 has no edge around the keyboard, and V2 has the edge around the keyboard to cover up the switches.
- LEDs are located on the top of the switches.
- Compatible with switches including Cherry, Gateron, and Kailh.

The FN key was placed on the front side of the keyboard in order to allow your thumb switch faster between FN and spacebar.

If anyone in the states would be willing to add an extra CF plate to their order, I'd love one for my V1 with my preferred backspace/tilde placement (layout A), but apparently I can't order one standalone. I would pay shipping from you to me, the cost of the plate, and a bit more for your troubles. Feel free to PM me if you're interested.

Alternatively @feng, could I order a Smart 68 plate with a Pad instead of buying another board? I'd really hate to have to spend another $300 to buy another keyboard just for a marginally more comfortable layout.

I think these are the options: Aluminum Case (Black, Grey, Silver, and Red available)

Hoping to see some pictures of the different options.

All you gotta do is pop the switches in, man. Hot-swappability makes it a breeze to install. You can put the whole board together in 10 minutes.

That very much depends on if the SIP sockets are preinstalled, the chips are presoldered and so on.

Good evening,

just to make sure, the front fn key is still having an offset to the right, not being centered to the spacebar position?
Better ask twice due to the long waiting time of this beauty to come true.

Correct, it's centered relative to the case, not the spacebar.

One reason is aesthetics for the case as a whole, another is that you'd need a new PCB + case combo for every bottom row layout which adds a lot of extra work.

Changing the Fn to be centered around the spacebar would mean having different PCBs w/ different locations for the Fn switch, as well as different cases to accommodate the different location of the spacebar.

Nope. I suppose it might affect the PCB mounted switches, since the little dippets won't go as far into the holes as they could, but I think cutting those off is better anyway with a plate.

After years of watching this keyboard, I want to congratulate you for finding success :)

Suggestions:
1) Explain the differences between different layout designs better ("why choose one over another?"
2) Explain the differences between plates ("why choose carbon over aluminum?")
3) Explain the differences between cases ("why choose a taller one?", "why choose one with no edges?")
4) Consider selling complete keyboards, or sell cases to stores that will sell complete keyboards. Some folks have more money than sense/style/time, and we just want to buy the cool keyboard in the picture! :)
5) Consider suggesting key cap sets and switches. Some folks are here only for your keyboard, and haven't read the rest of the forum.

Again, all my best to you. This looks like a beautiful product :) :thumb:

Even if you choose V2, you still need 2x 1.5u mods for the right side anyway. It doesn't matter which layout you choose apart from the V2B, you will need 3x1.25u and 2x1.5u regardless.
