What's an "ass tab"? 8)

Anyway, a lot of old boards used to have these, usually a mirrored medium-ass enter type :) .

Ugh... I actually thought about putting a hyphen there. A usual failure on my part due to my inability to focus. Yes, big-ass should be one hyphenated word. That's totally logical.

Not only that, I've always found it funny how Americans use the word "ass" as a modifier suffix that doesn't actually mean anything  :)) .

It is just an intensifier.

A big-ass Enter key is bigger than a big Enter key.
And a lame-ass comment is lamer than a lame comment.
"However, even though I was born in the Mesozoic, I do know what anyone who wants to reach out to young people should say: Billionaires took your money. They took your chance to buy a home. They took your chance at a good education. They stole your opportunities. Billionaires took the things you want in life. If you really want those things, you have to take them back.
That's the message. That's the whole message. Say that every day, not just to reach America's frustrated young white men, but people of every age, race, and gender.
Late-stage capitalism is a wealth-concentration engine, focused on vacuuming up every dollar and putting it in as few hands as possible. Republicans are helping that vacuum suck.
How does a tiny fraction of the population get away with this? They do it by dividing the other 99% of Americans against themselves."

I wonder if it originated from "stupid ass" in reference to mules and then stuck ass a suffix since it rolls of the tongue so well.

I remember "Big Ass" brand of canned ham.

Ham is made from the ass of a pig, so that makes sense.

As an American, it is our right to have a language that even we can barely understand at times.  It is also our right to use the Imperial system and not understand metric. :D

There is something to be said for units of measure not based on 10.
12 is divisible by 2, 3, and 4.
60 is divisible by 2, 3, 4, and 5. Why don't people ask for 100 minutes in an hour and 10 hours in a day?

The olde English system of coinage is extremely quaint and charming. What is not to like about a groat?

The one that always seemed out of joint with everything else was the guinea.

Why not count money in guineas?  They're base-21.

People usually have 10 digits :p . Regardless of what you use though, it's useful to at least use the same number for all interconversions rather than the arbitrary bollocks of the Imperial system :p .
