[HELP] Female Mini USB connector and housing
« on: Tue, 23 August 2016, 15:46:51 »
Hi guys,

I have been searching around for ages as I need to get a Female Mini USB connector and HOUSING. I can only seam to find Mini USB connectors and no housings for them.

I am in need of it so that I can create a really short cable to come out of my Phantom board that goes from male mini USB (From the Teensy controller) to Female Mini USB. This cable then will be connected to a much longer cable that goes to the PC.

I know they make them as I have modded my Filco with something similar. However Pexon hasn't gotten back to me on where he got it from to make the cable I bought!

Can anyone help me find one?

By housing you mean you would like a cable mounted female connector with some pretty plastic around it?  These are surprisingly hard to find...

That looks right.  Not sure what anyone would do with the other 99 though, and they will definitely arrive within two months which is reassuring :))

Using the same title, I found these:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/10Pcs-Mini-USB-Female-5-Pin-Solder-Type-B-Socket-Connector-/180884824471

A slightly more useable quantity! and only £2.87!

The ones linked does not have a housing that covers the wires too, they will be exposed.

Why not make a cable that is male mini usb from the teensy end to female USB A instead? You can buy the housing for female USB A easily. Only problem is you will need a USB A to USB A cable instead.

That is what heatshrink is for

The reason is because my other keyboards, Filco (With modded cable), my GON Nerd and my Ducky Shine all use Mini USB connection.

I bought these now and I will just heatshrink the exposed cables and likely only have the connector showing out the back of the keyboard casing.
