Quick question, I don't remember if this has been confirmed: will the group buy include the option to buy the stabs needed (for split spacebar layout)?
If no, what stabs do I need and where would be a good place to get them? This will be my first build so that's why I wonder. This layout seems perfect for me and I literally cannot wait!
I believe if you look on the first page it will list stabilizers for $10

Correct, a stab pack will be offered for $10 that should cover all the layouts.

Ah, my bad. Tried searching but failed.

So just to be clear, since I'm a noob, a 2u stabilizer works for a 2.25u and 2.75u key?

Glad to see this coming along! I almost gave in and bought an XD60, but I have persevered!

If you're running a keycap set I would love to see Nordic included, if you think that is feasible. You can look into Wodan's NorDe kit, which is a compressed version of German, Swedish/Finnish, Norwegian, and Danish in something like 15 keys.

Did you end up with extra PCB prototypes that you're not going to use? I'm getting a plate cut that's similar enough to what you're building that the PCB should be compatible. I don't mind soldering the surface mount stuff.

If not, I'll wait for the GB and get some PCBs.

Looks great!

Some awesome news, after the stream a lot of you showed interest in having a case sold with the board. I talked it over with Evan and we will offer the Retro60 case with BananaSplit groupbuy launch. He is getting some prototypes made in a rush and hopefully we will post some pics by next week. Here are some renders of the case in question.

I love the look of the case! I will be making a case with my dad, a custom wood one with a wrist rest. Good to see the case partnered with it though.

Oh crazy.  Wasn't expecting a case.  That thing is nice.  Is the addition of the case gonna push back the launch of the PCB's and plates?  I already sourced a case for my Banana Split build.

whoa looking really good!! Question - from the CAD drawings can't 100% tell if the alu case is going to be high profile or low profile. It looks pretty deep with the USB connector, but can't be sure. Looking at adding feet for an angle as well? This project is really looking to tick so many boxes...! An incredible looking PCB with so much flexibility, custom keycap set, and now a custom large bezel alu case? You're doing a lot of things right!

yeah just checked the reddit thread where evangs shows the retro60... he says it's intended to be used flat, but there are holes for feet if wanted. He also had some renders of the same case with an acrylic middle for underglow, wonder if they will pursue that too...

I could ask about the acrylic mid piece, but I believe that idea is scrapped.

Just found this IC and I'm really liking this layout:
Show Image

I don't use the right shift/win/Ctrl keys ever and always wanted to replace that section with an arrow cluster. A split spacebar would just be icing on the cake.
I love the name too! Give me a Banana Split with DSA Nanner and a Banana Snackey and I would love that board <3
sorry if I missed out but does this layout supported in the end? I love the split spacebar and the "arranged" arrow keys. I don't really like the single 1U between the spacebar in the original layout.

Just found this IC and I'm really liking this layout:

I don't use the right shift/win/Ctrl keys ever and always wanted to replace that section with an arrow cluster. A split spacebar would just be icing on the cake.

This is what is currently supported.

aww bummer. guess the 1u stays. is that a usual layout among split spacebar? what are you guys planning to use the 1u between the spacebar for?

My plan is to make it my Fn layer key. I like the right thumb Fn key on my Tex, and it has a 5u space bar. I find it much nicer than using a pinky for the Fn layer like I have on the Infinity (6u space).
