Micro USB to USB
« on: Tue, 01 November 2016, 13:44:19 »
Does anyone use their keyboard  and hook it up to their phone?

I'm wondering if someone like this would work

On the go, it would be nice to be able to touch screen and text on the phone.

I got a 6" micro OTG to mini from Pexon as it's cleaner than an adaptor, but technically it's the same thing.

It's usually used with my tablet but just tested using my old Nokia (only OTG phone I own :-[) and a JD40 (Teensy) and GH60 both work.  A CP-SQ with RGB LEDs does not, but you wouldn't want to carry that round anyway :))

The micro B to mini B is actually better, doesn't need adapter. Will have to look into that!

In theory is the phone strong enough to power the keyboard? I couldn't imagine using it extensively but it'd be nice to have it there in case I need it. I usually end up using air droid to text through my phone anyways.

Make sure the micro-mini is an OTG.

No theory needed - I tested the two boards with my phone earlier and sounds like SpAmRay does this regularly.  Will probably use some battery but it works :thumb:

I picked this up off ebay a couple months ago on a lark just to try it out:

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/USB-2-0-A-Female-to-Micro-B-Male-Converter-OTG-Adapter-Cable-for-Sony-LG-HTC-LU-/271969134989

Using a number pad with a usb hub built in, I got the number pad, a poker 2 and a hard wired mouse up and working simultaneously on a Samsung S3 with stock firmware.  I also tried it with a wireless mouse, but it didn't work.  I also tried the whole setup with a Nexus 4 with stock firmware, but it didn't seem to recognize it.

After that, life got busy and I haven't tried it on anything else or tried troubleshooting the Nexus 4.  For the price of the adapter, you can't got wrong if you just want to try it.

My Galaxy recognized the keyboard (with Soarer's converter) immediately with the cable that you show.
Citizens United violates the essence of what made America a great country in its political system. Now it’s just an oligarchy, with unlimited political bribery being the essence of getting the nominations for president or to elect the president.
So now we’ve just seen a complete subversion of our political system as a payoff to major contributors, who want and expect and sometimes get favors for themselves after the election’s over.”
