I miss handarbeit
« on: Wed, 11 January 2017, 02:03:27 »
I miss seeing the set and I wish it existed in group buy status right now.
I've got people to disappoint, I got mistakes to make.
How can you believe that I'm not a waste of space?
Oh I'm sorry to disappoint, I seldom save face.
But how can I speak your language
when I don't know my own....

Handarbeit is actually also slang for "tossing off" in German ... so this thread title made me giggle.

It also means "hand-crafted". So the term "made with love" has kind of a... different meaning here :D

I bet the original production went like this..

German 1:   Hey German 2, I bet I can blindfold myself, select some random ms paint colors , call it a special edition, and those idiots would buy it..

German 2:  You're on, the loser has to buy Schnitzel dinners for the whole office...

German 2: /loses a week's pay , buying dinners.

If I got the story right, it was a 1-2 unit showcase model for a trade fair

Never for retail sale at any time...

Did that ever make it into reality?

The harlequin golf is amazing. People have copied it on Mk2s and I love it.

That set though. Grim. It's like a WASD custom keyset made by an imbecile.

Why do they take the piss? Prices or what?

They act like they are selling Maybachs.  Even the average Audi dealer here is a lot more humble!

The luckiest bit was the left and right orange arrow keys.  By some coincidence, I got both of those in the first SP crap bag.  Without those it would not have been the same.
