Beamsprings keyboard questions.

I saw Chyros review of beamspring:

At 8:08 he says about limitation if you type fast and as an example shows that "there" transforms to "ther".

Anybody use beamspring keyboards at regular basis?
Do you face with this limitation?

What prices for beamsprings today?
I googled and found few ended offers, and all of them have prices 500$+.

The limitation apparently is not an issue if you don't use the solenoid; it's put in place because the solenoid will never be able to keep up with really quick typing. That said, the solenoid is of course super awesome.

Beam spring keyboards aren't too expensive if you buy them from the sources, but they are hard to find.  If you buy it from a reseller, they would be likely at market rate.

You should make an attempt to call electronic parts suppliers with the assistance of a directory.  My experience is that the Internet is only good enough to find you phone numbers.

it's pretty well known that beamsprings are hard to find

generally people just pay whatever they find them at

haven't seen too many go, so i don't really wanna make a price guess

Kind of depends which one you are after I think.  Last year, there were a few on ebay that sold more in the $150 to $250 range as buy it now listings, and they sold pretty quickly.   

I think the most recent board on ebay was already converted and had a solenoid driver as well which is what pushed the price over $500.

It's interesting that 4 years ago, before the advent of the xwhatsit, beamsprings would regularly go for $30 or less.  Shipping usually exceeded the sales price. Since they weren't usable, many got recycled/shredded

that's why i'm glad i have my IBM green alps thing that i got for like $20
