Now that the three sales have finished and boards are rolling in, I wanted to give everyone an update on b-stock. Here’s what’s up:

  • We tried to be very strict with QC, so we have quite a few b-stock boards to sell. Some of the issues are very minor and some are more serious, so discounts on b-stock boards will vary board-to-board.
  • We’re currently experimenting with cerakote with a local supplier. Some of the b-stock issues would be resolved by cerakote application if it could be done well, so we’re going to hold some kits back to wait and see how that goes. It could be a month or more before those are sold.
  • Remaining b-stock kits will be sold by raffle on Sunday, Jan 20 with an entry period of 24 hours. We’ll have pictures of defects for each individual board, so you’ll know exactly what you’re getting. You’ll be able to select multiple boards that you’re interested in and rank them by preference.

Thanks so much to everyone for your interest and support. I know that the format of this release wasn't perfect, and all the feedback we've received will be taken into account going forward. I’ll be posting more on what’s to come either this week or next (hint: limited No. 2 release, followed by a much larger release some time after).

Sorry if I wasn't clear. The b-stock boards will have the same engravings, since they were a part of the 20 cases of each version (60% and 65%). For instance, if the board with the engraving "eleven of 15" had a defect, it was held back from the sale as b-stock.

Yup, that's correct. The 15 referred to the literal number of kits produced, since they were all numbered.

riotonthebay, I just want to say I am really blessed to be able to get a 1/65 in aluminum last week.  Didn't get a chance to built it yet, but the quality is simply amazing.  And I like the unique design.

I am sure I will enjoy the board for a long time and it is definitely a keeper.

Jan 20 b-stock sale information

  • We'll post a submission form here around 9am EST on Jan 20
  • You'll have 24 hours to enter, and will be able to select multiple kits in case your first preference isn't available
  • These aren't all the kits we have left, but we're trying to resolve issues with the remaining ones using Cerakote, which we're currently experimenting with

While I don't want to completely rule out the possibility, we don't have any plans for a R2 at the moment. We do have a plan for a larger release after the No. 2, but it doesn't include another 60/65. More small form factor boards will definitely be available in the future, but not sure that it will be these exact designs.

Would love to see new design for more small form factor boards for R2 and keep this design exclusively for R1. Waiting for some YOK Pandas to finish up these builds. Excited for the raffle sale tomorrow!
